<p>I would throw some salts (Zip's sport soak from Indigo Wild) into my ice baths, but mostly for the fragrance component.</p>

<p>They work well.  Even better... take some old towels and soak in hot epsom salt and then wrap on whatever part ails you.  We used to do this to the horses on the ranch back in the day.  Worked on us kids too!</p>

I'm just trying to figure out if there is any real value here. I don't like baths, but I do want to do anything I can to speed recovery. Especially as the volume AND intensity ramp up (one or other, no worries, both.. eek eek !)</p>

<p>Now if someone can convince me that warm epsom baths are better for recovery than ice baths, we may be in business. But both my DC and LMT swear by the cold stuff...:-/</p>

For me it seems to help reduce the aches, very soothing and it helps prevent middle of night muscle cramps - after a tough dance workout I wrap my calves like Tammy wrapped the horses.  Nice hot epsom soaked towel wrap.  If I could figure out how to wrap my whole body I would.  I haven't done a whole epsom bath since probably my HIM in '08.</p>
