QOD: Regardless of the travel you've done so far in your life, if you only had one more trip in you to do, where would you go and why?

QOD: Australia. No idea what started it, but it's always been on my "someday" list.

Not fun: getting that splinter in my foot removed today. It's been there for 2 months or something, and while I can't see it, it's a pea size lump in the center of the ball of my foot. This is bad timing with GCM half this weekend, but it was the only first-of-the-day appmt the podiatrist had for a while.

morning peeps.

Spent most of yesterday at my sister's, which was nice. I crashed out on her couch for a while...until John woke me up to tattle on Maddie, because she'd snagged my cell phone. Tried to get to sleep early, but tossed for a good hour, then slept til about 4:30 this morning, then drifted in and out until I got up just after 6. I ended up coming into work very early, like 7:45, long before anyone else. So early that my alarm went off while I was driving to work.

Now, I'm feeling exhausted again. Meh.

Wip, how's your dad?

Winter, details?

(((Kath's foot)))

Tons of work to do today (one of the reasons I came in early) but really? I just want to take a nap. I might actually have to go downstairs to my car at lunch, and sack out for a little while.

QOD: I don't know...the older I get, the less I yearn to travel. I like being new places, I just hate getting there.

Doc shaved a divit out of my foot but couldn't find the splinter. So it's either in there deeper, or it was a keratoma. He said sometimes when you get a puncture would like a splinter, the skin around the puncturing item gets pushed inside, if that makes sense, and it gets hard. Which is what he thinks this is. He put a bit of acid on it to dissolve whatever hard skin might be left. So now it stings. pfftht.

Jack is whining at me so I need to get him out before I go to work.

Greetings, all.

Kath - Yikes. Hopefully there is some improvement for you soon. I remember you mentioning the splinter issue. Wow, that's been a while ago!

Winter - Hrm.. no need for ice cream could be a good thing or a meh thing. We need clarification please :)

Qod: Scottland. I'd love to see some of the older castles. Plan B would be New Zealand. Mainly because the landscape is beautiful and people seem to not be in a rush everywhere, making a point to enjoy life. That sounds very attractive.

My dad is up and at'em they had him up and moving around early yesterday and then gave him 2 percocet (sp) and send him crusing down the hospital hall ways. Today he is going to learn how to do the stairs and work his crutches and tomorrow he goes home!

Apparently he can't shower for like 10 days so he's going to be a stink pile!

Good morning We're back to surly again, but he did go to school with a big fat "FINE!!!" and an "oKAYuh...GAWD!!".

Yes Winter, clarification is required.

QOD: First choice would be either Greece or Italy. Food, wine, history, beaches, beauty. Need I say more? Although after watching Biggest Loser last night I'd like to add New Zealand to the bucket list.

It's not even 9:00 AM and I'm eyeballing my lunch.

Fun: Getting my hair cut after work. It will either be relaxing-ish me time, or DS will come along to get his godawful haircut fixed. I was helping him with his hair yesterday morning and really realized just how bad it is and called for an appointment. Yesterday DS was in a good mood and said he'd go, today notsomuch. I figure it's his hair, if he wants to go around looking like that then it's okay with me, saves me some $$.

Wippy: Good for your dad! not about being a stink pile, about going home! yea!

BigG: Ah well...whatchya gonna do? Rome wasn't built in a day. Maybe next week you'll get 2 days of Happy DS.

Date report: He came to pick me up at my house just before 7pm. He smelled great. We went to the pub, sat down and didn't stop talking until 11:30. We talked about everything under the sun. He drove me home. There were a couple chaste kisses and a promise for a movie date on Friday. There now you know. oh...and he has the most beautiful brown eyes you've ever seen in your life.

((((BigG)))) Baby steps. I admire your determination to keep as positive an attitude as possible under the circumstances.

Well, I've cried on and off for two days, and I think it's finally out of my system. I went to a penance service last night to get ready for Easter, and had the most awesome conversation with the priest. I was so happy I picked a really good one (there were 13 there). The short version of my drama is that my colleagues don't feel that I'm living up to the responsibilities of my job and they've decided to terminate my contract. So, I have a job for the next year and then I'm out. I know there are aspects that definitely need improvement, but no one's been terminated at this point for at least 20 years in my department, so it really sucks. I'm partially the victim of other people's crap, but the result is the same. The official vote is on Friday, but it's pretty much a done deal at this point. At any rate, I'll be moving next summer, and between now and then, I'm going to do my darndest to get a job that I like where I want to live. I'll keep you posted about how that works out.

QOD: England. I love England and to a lesser extent the rest of the UK- I am an Anglophile for sure. I love their music, tv programs, comedy, etc. more than I do the our own. I should save up money for a trip!!

Hey peeps, I have the weirdest favor to ask you:

My very fav face cream recently changed its formula (for the worse). I've contacted Burts Bees but in the meantime, I am desperately trying to track down some jars of the old formula, and would love it if you guys would look next time you're at your local drug store/market and buy them. I'll send you money!

It's BURT'S BEES RADIANCE NIGHT CREME.

The way to tell if it's the OLD formula, is look on the bottom of the box. If there is company contact info and website, that's the old formula. Runs about $12 a jar I think.
