DH wants to go see one of his favorite artists, Stanley Clarke, in Return to Forever <a href="http://www.chickcorea.com/on_tour.php" target="_blank">http://www.chickcorea.com/on_tour.php</a>... doing a reunion tour this summer. One of the venues is June 9 (Monday) in Vancouver BC. The day before is the Edge2Edge Marathon. Anyone know any details about this race?

E, five of us (MS, SS, Jura, Econo, Soundie) ran E2E as a relay last year. We had a blast. The West Coast of the island is a very special place, and the course is spectacular. There are a few bumps, especially toward the end, but they'd be nothing to a Wild Thing like you.<br><br>
A caution, though: Tofino is <i>at least</i> five hours' drive from Victoria, and 3.5 from the Nanaimo ferry. Unless you chose to fly, you'd have to boot it back to Vancouver the next day to make the concert. You'd probably want to make the most of the drive and hunker down with DH in a <a href="http://www.terracebeachresort.ca/" target="_blank">romantic little seaside cabin</a> somewhere for a few days prior.<br><br>
Be prepared for classic West Coast weather, 50F and drizzle.

Hee, sorry to interject, but every time I read <i>Tofino</i> my aging brain skips a cog and reads it as <i>Damfino</i>.<br><br>

Yes, it's a drive, but well worth it! What a fun and wonderful race! I'd go back in a heartbeat but 19 of my favorite Econo family members are here in Eugene that same day for a track meet.

As Sally says, yes, the last bit is cruel. It's a small marathon. It's nice. Heavy eagle presence.<br><br>
I'll likely be doing the half, part of which is on the Pacific Trail (marathon is on paved trail, beach, sparsely travelled highway). It's a goodie.<br><br>
And I think Patrick might be there! <img alt="banana.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/banana.gif"> Kinda hoping Sound might be too. If you are, let me know. I'll get cracking on booking accommo.<br><br>
Float plane or chopper to Vancouver would be spectacular! Good draw prizes too.

Oh, pshaw, pay no mind to that Mustang. Tofino is just a little hop, skip and jump from <i>Seattle</i> so how far could it possibly be from Vancouver for goodness sake? <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif"><br><br>
It's beauuuuuutiful there and worth the trip if you can relax and enjoy the scenery for a while, but you'd have some serious magic to work to make it to that show, Evan.<br><br>
