Hello all....Happy Easter to those who celebrate & Happy Spring Sunday to those who don't.

Go Heme !!!!!! Nice trail runs TW...and no apparant ill effects from a day of drinkin.

Been AWOL for a while, had a hectic week, lurked a few times but didn't have anything to say.

Spoke too soon re: my return to running last Monday. About 8 hours after the run, things started to hurt pretty good, so I've decided to bag it for a few more weeks. I suppose i could get an xray, but what's that going to prove at this late date??....Stay off the foot, take a few more weeks off...see I can diagnose myself........What worries me is I have absolutely NO DESIRE to try running. Usually when I'm injured I'm mopin' around counting down the days until I can run again. Not this time.......... I know the trick is when I'm able to run again, just fake it and force yourself to do it, eventually the desire will come back.

That's the way, TW!!!! Glad you had a good one!

{{{{{Johnny}}}}} Hope the desire comes back around the time the foot's ready.

Met the training partner at the trail head this morning. He'd had a big week running already and had made a plan to join his ex for brunch, but wanted to do a lap or so of the trails to shake the legs out anyway. I love this area...... the hills are rolling and there are plenty of both double and single track bits to suit all tastes. After about 4 miles we were back at the parking lot.... Joe'd had enough, so I was on my own. For the next couple of loops I hit a fair bit of the technical single track, walking most of the uphills. Back to the car, drop the jacket, change out the water bottles, have another gel and off to run another couple of loops. 20 miles took over 4 hours, and my hamstrings weren't too happy by the end, but the feet held up with minimal soreness, thanks to new metatarsal pads. I was pleased with the run, but still wondering how on earth I'm going to be able to do another 11 miles on top of that in a month's time. Then I remembered that it wasn't all that long ago that I was equally tired and sore after only 10 miles.

Stopped in town on the way home for a bagel, big chocolate milk, and a fresh bottle of Aleve!

Time to go shower, then put my feet up and read for a bit.

Enjoy the rest of the day, everyone!!
