<p>So there's all sorts of news bulletins flashing by my desktop about this big earthquake that hit Vancouver Island this afternoon. 6.8... sounds relatively large, no?</p>

<p>I text the oby:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>"Are you okay? Call..."</p>
<p> </p>
<p>and then about 20 minutes later:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>"Call me or mom as soon as you can."</p>
<p> </p>
<p>So the phone rings:<br><br>
Me: "Hi son, are you okay?"</p>
<p>He: "Yes, what's up?</p>
<p>Me: "I was just worried about the earthquake."</p>
<p>He: "There was an earthquake, where?"</p>
<p>Me: "Right about where you're standing..."</p>
<p>(at this point my colleague who has been listening in to my end of the conversation starts to laugh.)</p>

<p>Well, that's a relief, I guess.</p>
