Up and out early today so I have maximum recovery for my 15 mile race saturday.

I was thinking about running 10 but I was still a little tired so I ran short and faster.

Ran a just uncomfortably hard progression run the whole way and cut short the run at

7 miles. There was no way I was going to run another faster mile so I jogged the .71 home

for a cooldown.

7:52

7:22

7:13

7:09

6:59

6:53

6:35

Total run with the cooldown was 7.71 miles in 55:35

Nice run Rip. Looks like you're ready for the weekend race.

DW is riding tonight so I'll run about 1.5 hours at whatever speed or distance I end up at. Only going to be 95 degrees today. Suppose to go over 100 next week at least once. Everyone from TX to KS had a extremely hot summer. My home town of Wichita is suppose to hit their 51st day over 100 today. And it only gets worse as we move South. But some possible rain storms brewing for mid week next week.

TW - what's shaking today?

Nice bear pics yesterday but a bit close?

I'm always concerned about meeting bears in the berry patch. So far it hasn't happened, but it could...

Wow Johnny, I had no idea. But as to the pads question, I just used it on my right foot. The left foot has always been my happy camper and I didn't want to do anything to upset it. The toe deformity gives me unequal feet anyway, so the pad on one side didn't matter in that regard.

Nice run, Rip! I could maybe hit those later paces if I was running down a steep hill... GL on your race.

Hope you can figure out what's wrong, ks. Your symptoms don't sound good, really. Hope it's nothing serious.

That is good news, tomwhite. Don't mess it up.

Hi Mike! Hi Heme, Happy Feat and FO!

I got stung last night on my run! Was just past the 5 mile marker on the Equinox trail when *BAM* it felt like I got shot by a nail gun! Ouch that hurt. Right behind my right knee. I did keep going, eventually, stopping every now and then to check it for swelling. Sure stung like a buggar though, with sharp prick feeling sensations the rest of my run. Some benadryl spray helped last night, but I forgot it this morning and it's itching like crazy now. Last night's run was 11.3 miles on the trails @ 8:17 avg pace. Last four miles were all around 8's.

Today I was going to RAL, but it's been raining. Don't like running in the rain when I have to come back to work, so we'll see what happens.

Nice run, Erica! I got stung last summer on my bike... squished a bee at the panty line and had to stop to pull out the stinger. I find good old rubbing alcohol (IPA) is great to take the itch out.

Whoa... bears..... glad to live in a part of the continent where there's not much that'll kill me... outside of humans and cars, that is.

Greta progression, Rip!

Hi KS, HF and all who follow.

Just finished a light strength session in the gym... foot is hurting a bit today. May try for an MLR tomorrow before giving it a few days rest with my upcoming long weekend of debauchery.

Hey Rodney Dangerfield er I mean Tom. Funny. Yes that's it; she's happy for you. Well, I am anyhow.

Ran 8 miles tonight. I've felt better today than I've felt in a couple weeks. Not "normal" for me but better. So I run at 6:15 tonight and it's still 92-95 degrees depending on who is reporting. Ran 2.75 by myself and decided I'm not running another step until I see the doctor next Fri. By the time the group began it's run I decided just to run slow and see what happens. Ended up running another 5.25 miles rather crisply but still not my "normal". So 8 miles total and will see what happens tomorrow.

No bear or wasp or any other critter sightings to speak of tonight.

Julie ran/walked a mile tonight on the golf course to test her leg. So far so good!!

The local running store is beginning to carry K Swiss running shoes. They are giving me a free pair tomorrow to test.
