Not a good workout for me today

Schedule called for WU, 2 x 6 mi @ marathon pace with a 3 min walk recovery in between. Started with an easy 20 min, then set the treadmill to 5:52 min/mi and held that through the first 6 mi set. It wasn't an easy pace by any means. I was really working at the end of the 6 mi. Got some fluids and started the 2nd set. It was apparent early on that I was laboring too much so I eased the pace down to 6 min/mi. Even with that I was working too hard. Mentally I just broke down and shut the 2nd set down after 3 mi. I could have physically pushed through the full 6 mi for the 2nd set, but my head wasn't where it needed to be.

Right now I haven't seen anything in my training or racing build-up that indicates that I can achieve my goal of 2:35 at Boston. I'm feeling like the smart thing to do would be to target 2:37 rather than 2:35. Dunno, need to talk with the coach in the next few days. I need to figure out how to get a major confidence injection going into the race.
