Jesus tells you that you are hungry.

I was watching the Tyra Banks show last night and she had this lady on...I could not believe what I was hearing.

Some of the stuff this lady was saying was relatively normal (ie eat slowly, eat less, etc), but some of it was just crazy. She said that God tells her when, what and how much to eat and she prays between bites of food. She also said that she regularly doesnt eat till the afternoon and that if you are hungry in the morning, you should just keep drinking diet soda...yah, that is certainly healthy! What is wrong with people?

Anyone who is a "self proclaimed" anything ranks low, imo

I wonder if diet coke published her book

No credible RD would advocate having diet soda until afternoon.

Being mindful of eating (like tuning in to real hunger cues and truly tasting each bite) and eating more slowly to feel full on less can help with weight loss.

I think those people are tapping into their conscience about being truly physically hungry or having enough to eat in a sitting through their God. But hey, if it works, I guess.

You know, I kind of get this. When you fast for religious reasons (e.g., Yom Kippur) it does make the spirit feel elevated somehow, uplifted.

So if you go into each day doing that it would feel very good. Then after a while you say to yourself, "Jesus, am I hungry!" And there you go.

Seattlegirl posted a funny link to a Jesus Blog or newspaper column, in the coolrunning forum recently. I thought I'd be all sorts of pissed off at it, but it was pretty funny. Maybe she'll post it here.

Anyway, I try not to bug the Logos with silly stuff like dieting.

But that's just me.

Praying between bites has to slow down your scarf-fest, so there is something to that. I'll continue with my own body telling me when I'm hungry, and I get hungry first thing in the morning. Diet soda in the morning? Ew.

Maybe Jesus meant for us to drink Diet Coke Plus in the morning

At least it would have a few vitamins and minerals.

This lady could be on to something. Now that I think of it, I've never seen a picture of Jesus in which he looks to be overweight.

Now Buddha on the other hand....
