...........extra winter weight? I'm so over it! My pants don't fit right, my shirts don't fit right. Like I needed an excuse to wear workout clothes more often. Ugg I blame thanksgiving and christmas and all this blasted snow. When it's cold I feel the need to bake a batch of cookies everyday. Only this year, I seem to be doing more of the eating cookies than the taking of cookies to friends and neighbors and firefighters.

So extra pounds here, who needs 'em...free shipping!!! Hurry while they last, I hope to be sold out by Monday

I've already complained to sheldon about my winter weight. Isn't there a "starving kid in China" I could donate my fat to?

Lisa threatened me with lunges if I got fluffy over the holidays.
I behaved.
Then quit soda.
THat helped......
but, I'm still waiting for the regular sweating that will happen in the warmer weather that will make the winter feel more fluffy than the summer.
I really dislike being cold.

I was doing SO well. Then I bought ice cream. Then my Girl Scout cookies arrived. Then I taught way too many classes and burned out. Now I've eaten an entire half gallon of ice cream in the past 4 days, one box of Girl Scout cookies, and some birthday cake that my friend left at my house (beeeeoootccch! it was HER cake, dammit!), AND I've skipped a few workouts. Seriously. I'm mooing over here.

It doesn't matter WHAT I do over the winter, I gain weight. Usually about 5-10lbs or so. I trained for a spring 'thon last winter. Gained weight. This winter, I've added swimming 3-4 days a week and training for a 'thon. Still gained weight...

SIL (who stays with us now) went to Belgium and when she asked me if I want anything from there I said that she knows that I love chocolate, so bring me some belgian truffles.
Well, she came back and gave me 8 different boxes, plus 3 smaller packs.
I already raided each box and got 1-2 pieces from each... Should I have an insulin shot standing by??
My problem is I'm addicted, whenever I sit doing nothing, like watching TV, I graze on chocolate. And now I have this ton of totally new stuff waiting for me. The good part? And in at least one of the boxes, the truffles were filled with liquor, I think cognac.

I know I have 5lbs more than in November, but I really don't know where they are. I can't see any extra weight on me... and I had to retire two more belts because they can't hold my jeans on. Maybe the 5lbs got on my shoulders and back since I've been swimming a lot more this winter??

OK, back to American Idol, Lost and chocolate.

I accidentally ordered 2 more boxes of cookies than my limit.
I forgot that I told someone to get some for me, and I got some from a colleagues child when I was babysitting.

(*sigh*)

Now my willpower is going to be tested at work and at home.

That sounds sooo like me. I lose weight when I am not trying to or when I become a couch potato. Since starting to do tri's I have gained 15 LBS. Go figure.

NO, I've got my winter weight thankyouverymuch. I always gain a couple of pounds at the holidays as well, but this time of year I always seem to load back up on veggies again and they melt away. I stepped on the scale this morning and was a little over 3 lbs lighter than I was a month ago - I just keep stuffing veggies in my mouth and try like crazy to avoid too many cookies!

Chris - your SIL reminds me of a former tenant we had living in our 3rd floor apt. A really sweet guy from Switzerland. Whenever he went home to visit, he brought back pounds and pounds of chocolate. Lots of different kinds, some with liquor, some with nuts... but all so delicious it's hard not to eat a whole pack.

But, these days I'm trying to recover from a year and a half of less training and living like a gypsy and a contractor with my life upside down. I gained almost 20 pounds, and FINALLY over the past couple of weeks I can feel the fat SLOWLY leaving. My pants are fitting a little better, my hips aren't as hippy.

It's all because I'm cycling and running more (I was always swimming). So, now it's all about balancing - yes I'm working out more so I need more calories, but sometimes I could eat enough for two people training!

Thanks, but I don't need them either. All my clothes are tight and it's hard to motivate myself to train what with all this cold weather left still (winter finishes mid-April in Montreal).

Have you tried E-bay yet?

In two days??? Less, really. About 30 hours. I have another box in my desk drawer, but I refuse to touch it until at least Monday.

Plus I forgot to mention the entire bag of M&Ms I ate this week. The ONE POUND bag. All by myself, thankyouverymuch.

No Thanks! I am with you, 4bm. I ran a lot during the last several months and I still gained weight. What is up with that?!?! I am about 4lbs heavier than I want and jeans (particularly around hip/butt) is a little tight and my kids love to punch my rear end saying 'squishy'. Is this what being over 40 means?

Yes, that is a victory. I have a serious problem. Thin mints are like crack. I couldn't have a box in my desk drawer because I'd be in them.

I can't buy the bags of M&Ms like that becasue I will work my way thru them until I have a sugar hangover.

y'all are no help at all. I guess it does help to not feel alone but, it doesn't help me to get my jeans on.

maybe we should have a pounds pledge. We can donate all the extra weight to the starving actresses in hollywood.
