Well, some people died in the storms. The silver lining is that my colleague got a kidney from one of them, and is off dialysis for the first time in six years. She's doing great. She got a kidney about 3 years ago, and her body rejected it. This one looks like it's going to "stick." I'm glad to see some good from what happened.

I think as long as your family and friends know your wishes, then that's all you need. As far as I know. I could be wrong, though. It couldn't hurt to somehow get this in writing.. because you never know if they will carry out your wishes when the times comes. Especially if it is under stressful circumstances.

Check the back of your driver's license. There is a place on the back of my license I can (did) sign if I want to be an organ donor.

That's fantastic, jebba

For those considering donation, make sure that your family members are aware of your wishes. My understanding is that they are consulted at that time and can say no to donation regardless of the info on your license (someone please correct me if I'm mistaken)

That is good news jebba. I'm glad it turned out well for your friend.

I'll be going into Jackson, TN, next week, which was one of the hardest hit areas. My clients have been rebuilding their endocenter and are finally ready for training. We didn't have other trainers available, and didn't want them to wait any longer after all they've been through. (Sorry, I'm flying through Memphis and not Nashville this time.)
