Ok-question.

I've had a bunch of people say lately it looks like I've dropped weight. I haven't.

How common is it to "redistribute" weight? My clothes don't really feel different...

Same thing here.

I lost about 10 lbs within the last 6 months, but nothing super recent. I have been getting the same thing.

Did you buy any new, well fitting clothes? I find I get comments when I switch out my baggy jeans for some newer, smaller ones, even if I lost the weight months ago.

Yeah, but you are also working out. Working out isn't always static (ie linear) in how it affects your body. All sorts of reasons can throw it off. And maybe the working out you've been doing is now bridging another sort of gap where you are indeed burning off more fat but replacing it with more muscle or muscle that just decided (probably due to training changes, if even ramping up the same old) to put a little bulk on, which doesn't always mean that you would notice it being bigger just yet.

So you probably do look like you lost weight, because you probably have trimmed more fat, but you are working out and getting stronger with more solid muscle. Just a guess.

I've been getting the same comments recently, and I know I haven't lost any weight recently...However, I was looking at a picture of myself taken by a friend yesterday and I realized that I do look thinner in the face, which is probably something that is easily noticed by casual people.

YES...
I totally redistribute it.

Lisa says I look slimmer, but the scale doesn't agree.
BUT, clothes are fitting a bit differently.

The redistribution (for me) tends to come a few weeks before noticeable weight loss via the scale.

People say I look like I have lost weight, but I have not. Since starting to swim, though, my arms look REALLY lean and muscular, and I think that makes a difference.

If only my tummy looked lean and muscular. I actually DO have abs of steel. Ya just can't see 'em.

I redistribute like crazy. The scale hasn't changed but I'm buying smaller clothes.

Yep I hear that makes a difference... My dillema is the dryer. I buy a little bigger cause I dry everything and I wash in warm water. Sometimes it shrinks, sometimes it doesn't shrink enough. Am I the only one with this problem?

LOL. I see that. I wish looking like someone could make me as fast as that someone.

In the mid-90s people told me I looked like Andrew Shue. Then in the late 90s they said Ben Affleck. Both worked rather well in Newport -- "sure I do -- I am his cousin ... yeah, that's the ticket"

Absolutely. Happens to me all the time, but at weird times. I've been stuck at virtually same scale weight for god knows... don't make me look, i'll get depressed. Maybe August?

Anyway, I have had 2 periods where MANY people did make such comments. One round I attributed to the fact I bought new shirts and pants for work (HUGE $) that actually fit my current size properly. The other, no flippin clue. Just figured it was a furthering of the shrinking-ron-syndrome. Putting on more muscle (great, just what I freakin need) and dropping fat (this part, I'm ok with!)

I remember Andrew Shue, but only because he was barely good enough to play ball for MLS for a short time. It was back in the day when the level of play in MLS was so poor that even I thought about trying out for our local team. I should have just so that I could say that I tried out. Bouncing back to Andrew, he was doing a back and forth between sitting on the bench for the LA Galaxy and that television show he was on.

As for me, I've been told I look like boy wonder Robin and also the lead singer for Smashing Pumpkins, but I haven't been told either in a long time. Then again, both of those are out of favor.

Anyway, first time I saw Janda I had to do a double-take, for I knew I saw that face somewhere... and then it hit me, the face I thought it was was yours!
