This is a poll.

When I was younger I would reread books that were enjoyable and inspiring. These days I will only occasionally reread book that are lighter, like Harry Potter, Carl Hiaasen, etc. Although there are some books I've read recently that I think I would enjoy a lot a second time around.

Rarely - mainly due to lack of time. So many books, only so many hours in a day.

Usually after I've read it once that's enough, there are a few books that I can reread over and over again, some that used to be on that list have lost there charm as I've gotten older. Most of the time I like to pass a book on to a friend after I've read if I think they would get something from it as well. Thankfully I have a very literary family and book suggestions are always plentiful, I can't leave a gathering without an armful of new books. Some books I can always pick up and flip to a page and read just a section and feel satisfied, I don't know if that counts as rereading or not.

I'll read my favorite books thru over and over.

I've read To Kill A Mockingbird cover to cover more times that I can count.

And there are many others on the list, too.

I often reread books. Sometimes really good books, things that were important or inspiring to me. But sometimes I'll reread thrash just for the comfort it brings.

When I was a kid, I did all the time. I can quote sections of Little Women and Lord of the Rings.

Now, I just reread self-help books about finance and organization.

I have literally read some books so much that I caused their gruesome and untimely demise. Covers fall off, pages flutter away, etc.

I'm always offended when a book bores me so much that I cannot even finish it. The most recent offender was Me by Katharine Hepburn.

if it's a book i haven't read i a long time and they're going to make a movie out of it, i might re-read. and if it's a series, like harry potter, i'll skim through the previous book just before the next one is released.

i have been thinking of reading DUNE again. for no special reason other than i think it's the best sci fi i've ever read.

I don't do it as often anymore At this point, I find that I hardly have time to read all the books I want to gobble up the first time around.

However, I used to reread books all the time, and there are some I've read upwards of 20...the Little House series, Swiss Family Robinson, Dubliners, etc.

I've read 'The Pilgrim's Progress' at least 4 times. I've also read 'Israel My Beloved' at least 4 or 5 times before lending it to someone and not getting it back.

I re-read books that are part of a long series. So, if I just picked up the 7th book in a compilation, I will often re-read the first 6 to refresh my memory.

i reread the flowers in the attic books a million times in highschool, and i, like a lot of you guys, reread the last book when a new one in a series comes out especially if it's been a while. I also do the movie thing...sometimes i read the book again before the movie and sometimes after the movie if the movie botched the book for me.

for the most part though, i read em once i'm on to the next one.

Aslowhiteguy - I was thinking of rereading DUNE too, but when i went to grab my book the middle fell out and i realized i had lost a few pages ... then i lost my train of thought....
