Aren't we all?

I boil water for my hot tea in the morning but just take hot water out of the hot water spigot on the coffee machine for my iced tea in the afternoon. Just wondering if it makes a difference antioxidant-wise.

I usually use hot water, not boiling. I have heard the same thing that boiling it can damage some of the goodies.

Pour hot water into the cup, swish, discard. I use a tea ball or a strainer. Some teas you DON'T boil the water, just heat it, others have to be rolling boil. For flavour purposes some are 10 minute steeps, some are very brief. Dunno much about them there aunty oxidants though.

Ahhh tea. Had a Silver Needle earlier, now off to get my cortisone shot and am promising myself either a Darjeeling/Poobong or a Green Tea Chai for being a good boy on my return. Ahhh the joys of vacation.

http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/3/a/GreenTea.htm - does that help? I don't think they mean you should actually boil the tea (YUCK) but that the water should be boiling as you pour it over the tea.

Sounds like you are going to end up with a more bitter tea, though.
