because I just woke up from one that is now freaking me out and if I interpret it one way, it's really bad. If I interpret it as just stress related, it's ok.

like you, there are some that I'd like to believe and others I'd like to attribute to just bullshit.

I think they can give you information and insight about yourself and what's on your mind, but it's not necessary to believe them outright. Sometimes they are just your mind's way of sorting through a day.

I did have quite a few last summer that I now wonder if they were premonitions, but of course at the time I just wondered why I was having them!

I think dreams have several functions...I think they can be used for premonitions, I think they can be used as simple insight and sorting of the day, and I think they can just be random interpretations of the chemical reactions going on while we sleep

I had a great one last night, but I'm thinking the likelihood of that being recreated in real life is somewhere between nil and nil.

...but I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I think you should keep in mind that every thing in your- every object, person, place, etc... is representative of something going on in your noodle. If your bread is baking about stress- your dreams will likely illustrate representations of those things you're stressed about.

What was the dream? Tell Dr. Peanut all about it.

I had a fish tank with 3 fish and one was dying. Then when I looked again, I had a HUGE tank with lots of fish and another was dying but when I looked closely I saw one of my cats (IRL: I only have one) was laying at the bottom of the tank, like an cat would lay, head up, but she was looking at me and blinking, so she was alive, but I knew I couldn't save her.

Then I woke up.

my mother gets her scan results today; I hope that dream didn't mean anything related to her. I woke up thinking it was just stress related. But then it occurred to me what day it is.

What do fish mean to you?
What does your cat represent to you (Is it a pain in your ass? Your pride and joy? Your little spoiled bebeh?)
What does water represnt to you (Do you like to swim?)?
How did you feel when you saw the dead fish in the tank? Were you sad for the fish, or were you just 'meh, whatever' or were you 'oh great! i have to clean the tank now!'
How did you feel when you saw your kitty in the tank?

Good luck with your mom (((Auntie)))

I agree. I try not to believe that some of my dreams serve as promonitions of sorts because I think I would be setting myself up for major disappointment sometimes. But they do make me wonder...

I dunno... I've had some bad ones lately pertaining to my kids. IRL I worry about their illness and also have had their father not trying to get along with me at all (completely one-sided, too).

I've also had premonition dreams where I get fired... then get fired IRL.

So, I t hink it can go both ways.
