I am thinking about returning to college to pursue another degree. I am hoping for some online classes, not sure. Auditors are spending the week here at the office, so I should have some time to look at options/classes etc.
Ack. Gotta work today. Anyone else?

Fun day of football yesterday. Nobody is surprised that the Patriots won, but how many people saw the Giants coming? Most of the "experts" on TV picked against the Giants every week. I doubt anybody had picked them from the beginning of the playoffs. Conventional wisdom says the Pats will win the Super Bowl. But the way these Giants are playing, I have no idea...

Have a great Monday, folks.
Brrr...very cold here, too. I hate it.

I'm taking the baby to her first mom and baby class today. Should be interesting. At least it'll get us out of the house.

I tracked down the lady who made my earrings...the one I lost last weekend...and she made me a brand new pair! Didn't even charge me! That was sweet of her.
Cold here as well...I'm not complaining, it's winter, there's snow on the ground and I have the day off. Seems pretty perfect to spend the day snuggled up with the pup and kitty and watch Singin' in the Rain again (I have to take costume notes.)

I posted a pic last night, I don't know if anyone saw it.

Maria, DH, me, and Heater, when we all met for breakfast in my 'hood.

Litchy, I still say it's edgy. I like it. I do think of you as the kindly uncle of the group though, is that ok?
Mornin' 30's,

Bob didn't find the trader card version. Prob. would have to go beg my mom for that and sign a contract in blood so I'll give it back. I did find the plain pic, it's still just as goofy looking. I'll have to see about scanning it in within the next couple of days when I'm off.

Jill beat me to it Colleen, I was wondering the same thing. I am thinking about starting back to school in the fall. Really wanted to start sooner, but ya know, life.

Clare Have fun at your class with the little one!

Superbowl So am I a Giants or a Patriots fan? Hmmmn, I'll have to figure that one out.
Good morning gang! I'm at work too, Bob....

Colleen, do you only want the accounting degree to keep/get a better job in the field you're already in? I'm just wondering if there's something that you do love that you think might be worth taking a chance on?
Thursday: left the hotel in Bangalore at noon CST. Got to airport. Waited 13 hours. Had to have our exit visas canceled - that's a little demoralizing when all you want to do is go home.

Eventually get to Mumbai, but have missed our connecting flight to Heathrow by several hours (turns out that was okay due to the crash there.) Stay in a hotel in Mumbai Friday night.

Leave for airport at 5:30 Saturday morning. Get through customs. Get on plane. This is a good sign. Land in Frankfurt. Going well. Get back on plane in Frankfurt a little late, but whatever. Strong headwinds make us an hour and a half late arriving in Chicago but we're still doing okay to make it to Mpls.

Until it turns out the cargo doors are frozen shut and they can't get the luggage off the plane. The luggage we need in order to get through customs. Two hours later - we've missed our connecting flight to MN as well as the last flight to Mpls.

Stay in hotel in Chicago. Saturday night.

Leave for airport at 5:30 Sunday morning. Get through checking in and security in a group of 16 - with 15 of us having to get patted down and bags searched. Get to gate. Get on plane. Plane takes off and actually does arrive in Mpls at 8:30 am Sunday.

Meet Bob at airport (he had driven down Saturday night to take me to a nice hotel so we could reunite there. . .sigh). Stop for blueberry pancakes at Mickey's (They don't taste like curry!!) and drive north.

Arrive at my house at 1:00 pm Sunday - 3 days and a hour after I started coming home.

Classes start tomorrow, I have to finish some blog posts and get them posted, work on the paper that's due for the class I just finished and today I start training for Madison.

Nice to be home.

mornin' everyone.

Clare - have fun at the class.

Bob - I'm worried about the Giants v the Pats. Although, they did do a good job of containing Turner yesterday which bodes well, and at least they don't have to deal with the Karma of having Fav-ruh playing in his last game ever

Colleen - How long would it take to do?

Moe - just clearing out your camera this weekend?

So we're out to dinner with friends last night for my God Daughter's birthday, and I'm talking to my friend about careers and future and whatnot (he's an electrician, and is only about 5 months from finishing his schooling and getting a nice pay raise for graduation), and he's asking exactly what I'd like to do with my degree after I'm done, and I tell him I'd like to maybe get into consulting, and mention a couple of company names who do the sort of thing that I'd like to do.
Turns out he's doing a job at one of the companies, and talks to one of their VP's fairly frequently. He's going to see about getting my resume into them in the next couple weeks (which means I need to bring it up to date, and polish it up a bit).

Not nearly a guarantee, but it's funny how small the world can be sometimes. Even when you're talking to a friend you talk to frequently.
Welcome home Mary!

Off work today for MLK day. The older I get the more I understand just what he did. Sure he was human and had faults in his personal life (but which of us doesn't). Yet you cannot help but admire him. I think his courage is what stands out the most to me. Just the courage to try to make a better world for his people.

/end tribute

WAY TO GO ELI! I am so happy for him. He is such a class act and a super guy. Yet I've never seen anyone in sports who has more haters for no good reason. He doesn't talk smack or have a bad attitude. The guy is simply a hard worker who tries to do his best. Some hate him just for his name which makes no sense either. The Manning family are great folks as well. Sure Charger fans are probably steamed for him not wanting to sign and I didn't agree with that decision either but anyone else hating on him for that? Come on.

It will be a tremendous upset if they win the Super Bowl but I hope the haters and NY press eat crow just for Eli leading the NY Football Giants to the big game.

/end Eli pep rally

Ok time to play World of Warcraft on me day off
