Chicken & waffles...don't judge me.

Apparently, I forgot to fill in tonight's meal when I was planning last weekend so am falling back on breakfast for dinner. And then I started thinking about this whole chicken & waffle phenomenon and figured we'd try it. So I mixed up a waffle sponge with my sourdough starter before leaving for work this morning and will probably pick up some fried chicken from somewhere.

Just like ihop.

Hmmm....maybe I'll make chicken and waffles too.

I don' get the chicken & waffle thing either. How do you serve it? Is the chicken on the waffle like a bun? Beside it? Do you put maple syrup on the waffle? I'm confoosed.

We're having sauted red/yellow peppers and green beans on spaghetti with smoked turkey and parma reggiano.

It is like your regular breakfast waffles with butter and syrup, with a side of fried chicken (or in my case shake and bake chicken strips). LOL, I think the kids are gonna love it.

I think my kids would LOVE it. Sweet and savory like that though, not sure it's my thing. If I'm gonna have waffles, I see maple syrup, whipped cream, fresh strawberries, blueberries, bananas...fried chicken? Just seems so incongruous.

I like my waffles like KitKat, actually I'm a purist that prefers only butter & maple syrup, and I'm the type that hates bacon & sausage to touch syrup on my plate so the chicken & waffle thing will be an adventure. I've seen it with gravy but I think that's weird even for me....

I've lived near two different Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles in my life....never been there or had it.

Leftover pizza here. Not very exciting, but it means cooking two nights in a row. woohoo!
