Technically, it is NOT free. Someone is paying for those perks and it is usually the consumer. The CC processing fees for rewards cards are higher for the seller and you can bet they pass that cost along to the consumer. So EVERYONE pays for those airline tickets and hotel rooms and points that you can spend on a new kayak. Even the people who don't use rewards cards. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/sad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Sad">

Honestly most of those CC fees are going to pay off unpaid debts for those who declare bancruptcy or just plain dont pay the bill. So you can pay for someones big screen TV and get your own rewards or you can just pay for their big screen TV. I choose the first option.

The rewards cards generally charge an annual fee to offset some of the cost... and make it hard as hell to cash in on the rewards. Keep that in mind too.
