For the most part I just work the new gas price into my budget.

But I have cut out the free German movie I was going to on Wednesday nights about 10 miles from my house to save a little on gas and I do catch myself when thinking of going somewhere pausing to think do I really need to drive there or not.

Nevertheless I'm still driving from Atlanta to Oklahoma City for a 1/2 marathon in April and I'll just work the gas prices into my trip expense. It still beats the $400+ air fare from ATL-OKC.

Since the only days I leave the house these days are Saturday and Sunday, and Mr Aire works a mile from home, I just consider gas costs a part of life. Although who knew a Subaru WRX STI sucked gas? (ok, I did know, but it is a really cool car.)

The thing is we are now having to actually think about gas. Something I usually don't do.

You no doubt already had the Subaru. Would you buy it now knowing the gas situation might get even worst?

You know, I don't really know. It's a small car, 300+ horsepower, AWD, so it's perfect in DC. It's also the car Mr. Aire always wanted. My car is a Jeep, what I always wanted. Both are versatile, but gas hoggy. We'd love diesel, but what we want just isn't available yet.

Pretty much do all the ones on Brutal's list, except for coffee (free at work, and I always fix one to take on the drive in to work), no store-brand/generic beverages, and we usually still go out once a week for dinner.

I am very happy that my commute changed from 55 miles one way to 1.5 miles one way. Not only am I am happy to not be commuting as far, my wallet thanks me as well....And I am close enough to my new job that I can ride a bike or run.

I just got a new car with a much smaller engine- and overall better gas mileage. That should help.

Things are tight overall this year with the new business. I'll just have to continue to keep things lean and work towards a fat month soon.

Sucks because I"m making lots of trips to Grandma's to take her to the doctor. 200 miles round trip, plus driving around town. Easiest vehicle for her to get into/out of is the van. Ouch. But whatever. She needs me to do it, so I'm gonna do it.

Therapy dog work is taking me all over town. I'm not going to turn down assignments though.

When it comes time to replace the van, I'm getting something smaller. Only once in the past year have we taken everyone in the van so I don't really need it anymore. But, it's paid for and we just sunk $1500 into her, so we'll keep her for just a little longer.
