Little bit of proud parent indulgence...

After a so-so swim season last year, DD finally made the move to a more competitive team. More demanding - but so far she's up to the challenge, and the coach expects some good results (thinking national level meets possibly next year). She just had a meet in VT this weekend - after a week of being sick/bad practices, and feeling pretty crappy Saturday - still managed to turn in the following.

Saturday -

100 yd free - (SCY) - 59 .33 seconds (first time under a minute )

200 IM (2:30.87 - actually tanked on that one - 5 seconds above seed, but feeling like crap at this point).

200 back - 2:25.35

Sunday -

200 free - 2:09.94

100 back - 1:04.48

50 free - 26.42

Not too shabby at 13.5yo - esp. as those times will probably get faster later in the season (at least the coach thinks so - and more importantly, he has her believing that she'll get there).

She's quick!!!

Good to know that she's stepped up the stakes with a new team, too. A faster set of lane mates may give her just the amount of competitiveness that she needs.

Congrats!
