Thought I'd take a crack at running a long rise for a change. The first loop up to the stoplight was pretty warm due to a complete lack of shade, and truthfully ... regardless of the various yards and trees and houses, it's pretty bland & featureless.

Coming back around from the shorter of the two rises and tackling the grind up to the High School is far less boring. Passing the woods, you can always spot a tree bent in a way you never noticed, an interesting splinter of light, maybe an undiscovered micro-clearing. Keeps the wits about you though, because this road is frequently travelled by big Piney pickups skooting from The Pike to Rt 73.

After a pretty muscley chug up the hill and around the High School, I was able to comfortably glide back home for an easy four altogether, for the day

Note to self:

Do not attempt to do mile repeats on the track and hill repeats on the bike on the same day. Hello, legs!
