My first sprint Tri:
Run 5K-23.27 61/1303
Bike 11 miles 35.11 203/1303
Swim .5 mile 14.40 1051/1303 (yes-I am that bad)
Overall 1.19 210/1303

OMG-Swimming in the OW is so hard! That being said the tri was a blast. I met some really great people-including another Kickrunner-Beaker! My family was not able to come watch and it was so nice to have someone there cheering for me. Thanks!
Danskin is a non-competitive sprint tri held all over the nation (for women only) to support breast cancer awareness and funding for breast cancer research. It is a great experience for 1st timers.
The most amazing thing about the day was watching the wave that consisted of breast cancer survivors. These women are amazing. Everytime I saw someone with a survivor's shirt I could feel the tears coming and a lump in my throat. Having a mother currently fighting this disease made this day very important to me. I hightly reccomend it to anyone looking to support the cause or just for a first time tri experience.
Now I want to run 26.2 with Donna, 1st Breast Cancer Marathon, in Jacksonville in Feb. Who's in?

Great job for a great cause.

You keep breaking down barriers -- always a good feeling. What's next?

kruss - way to kick some butt at an awesome event (the power and inspiration you got from the survivors must've been incredibly moving.) And you got to meet Beaker, a pleasure that I haven't had yet but am looking forward to a lot.

And yeah, open water swimming's a PITA, ain't it? Don't worry about feeling slow - at the end of my swim leg, the studettes of the female 20-29 year olds who were released 5 minutes after my wave were stroking past slowpokes like me

Congrats again!

Fantastic job Kruss. I'm always amazed by triathletes. I'm barely good enough to compete in one sport so I can't imagine doing three.

Good luck with your marathon.

Way to go! Nice job on your first tri ... you're just full of firsts this month, aren't you?

Isn't it the most amazing and humbling feeling to be surrounded by all of that emotion and support?

Thanks everyone
Meri-No I wasn't in the Schyullkill but I'm pretty sure the NJ bay isn't much better. I tried really hard not to think about what could possibly be in the water!

Nicely done!

I know when I've run the Susan Komen Race for the Cure, I always get choked up, but inspired, by the survivors.
