Not to be confused with the popular TV show, Dances with Durt.

Who's going to Hell this year, anyone? This is my first time at DwD.

Let's see, 100km divided by 5 relay runners = about 12 miles each.

There's also a 50km and 50mi ultra.

I hear Hi Everybody might be there. I can't wait to meet the legend that is timlooney!

Anyone else? Camping? Who can tell us about the course?

The course is challenging. Last year, on the "where's the f'n bridge" I went chest deep in a mud hole. On another leg, the start of the leg was a few hundred yards going upstream in a shallow river.

Where's the f'ning bridge sucks
This Sucks - sucks
Butt Kicker - sucks

ok pretty much the whole course sucks

It's a lot of fun if you take it for what it is. Ultra runners get treated like royalty - relay runners get treated like the skurvy dawgs they are!

Tim (or any other DwD veterans,)

Is there a good strategy for selecting what relay legs to run?

It depends on how much you enjoy mud. If you run This Sucks use a pair of shoes that are ready for the trash heap. The mud will be at least thigh deep and many people end up falling in and getting covered with mud.

I say just try to even the mileage out and bring poison ivy soap. There will be poison ivy.

I'm running Purgator, Where's the F'n Bridge and Amputation.

Styx is wet. Listen to the people on the bridge guiding you towards the more shallow waters. Watch out for the sharp rocks. Bring a towel.

p.s. Potto is just some nice trail running. Enjoy that leg. I love this trail. It punishes you gently.
