I am curious why we don't see many (if any) user names with dad or husband in them. There are plenty of _____mom(s), momof______, _____wife, etc. but no dadof_______, ______hubby, etc.<br><br>
Is it because women identify more with their familial roles where men just look at it as one of their chores/tasks?

I have seen men with "childcare" written on their calender/to-do list. That in reference to taking care of their own kids. I have never seen a woman refer to taking care of their children as I got childcare from 5:30 to 9:00 this evening.

I write "kids" on my calendar days I have them.<br><br>
No way in Hell would I call it child care or babysitting. I don't view it like that at all. I love taking care of my kids and am proud to be a father.<br><br>
As far as labeling myself as "DadMort".... I guess it just sounds wierd... I've been Mort since before posting...

then there are 3 dads, 0 hubby/husband names

I would guess that women, in general, do have more of their identity wrapped up in motherhood than men do in fatherhood. I would also guess that the margin between the two, while there, probably isn't that wide. I think that the reason we're not seeing more dad titles is that we don't get the warm fuzzy that women get by advertising the fact that we're a parent.
