Did 12 miles this morning and even with tired legs from last nights efforts I was full of bounce so I backed it with another 5 miles at 7mm during my lunch break.

Given there are 3 days of the month left I shall see my highest mileage week and month since return from injury, I may even see 300 !!!!!

Lab - good news but be careful

Anyone out racing this weekend ?

Good morning Gobi and those to follow. I'm running in a race on Sunday: the Geoduck Gallop Half Marathon, but I'm not racing it: just jogging along to support my team and get a little incentive to speed up a portion of the 20 miles I'll run that day.

Have a fun Friday!

[tiptoeing in] . . . . it's quiet here today. so i'll tiptoe in as to not disturb anyone . . .

300 Gobi? wow! impressssssssive!

Have fun at the HM, Dove. I like getting in longer training runs when it's part of a local race that I don't necessarily want to "race" at, but just run and enjoy it.

Tonight, DH and I are going out. It's my boss and office managers retirement party, so a mingling social affair with all the co-workers, other attorneys, judges, etc. I'll even be dressed up. well, dressy casual I guess. It's not that formal of an event. Then we'll probably go have dinner someplace, as the retirement party is just drinks/appetizers.

Tomorrow afternoon I'll get in my long run and then Sunday, before the ProBowl, my son wants to go up to the gym and work out, so I'll get in some more exercise (vraa points) then too. speaking of VRAA, this sure is a quiet round isn't it bty and om? and I noticed OM that you bowed out. sorry you had to step out. the last couple rounds have been pretty quiet actually. maybe the concept of vraa is starting to fade away as the interest isn't there like it used to be.

Funny, as soon as VRAA started, my hamstring started bothering me. As soon as I quit, it stopped. I don't know about anyone else, but it's awfully hard not to read into that one...

I had a very nice rest day yesterday. Which hopefully would mean I would have a very nice run today. It did, and so I did. 9 miles in 1:30:17, nice and slow and steady in the park, with flurries keeping me company the whole way. The last mile was the fastest, at 9:27. Felt good to have a strong finish like that.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Hi all!

Wow....where is everyone today????

Gobi...you're a machine!!!

I usually don't like to post until I've done something...... and today's been really busy.

Was utterly baffed yesterday, so only did a mile on the TM for a warm up , then did my hip /knee/hamstring/calf strength routine.....2X ferber sets, hamstring curls, calf raises, and stability ball squats (with pilates ball between knees).

Today, I got in a nice 3 miler outside at lunch.

Have fun at the HM, Dove!

Good luck to anyone else racing!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Lately I've been doing lunch runs and would have posted by now, but decided to double up and run after work, then again in the morning. Maybe because it's freakishly warm.

Heme, "utterly baffed"? Since my vocabulary is limited to about 500 words, that's a new one for me!

Nice nine OM. I'm tempted to call you 'Orangy', but I'm afraid you'd whack me with a snow shovel.

The last time I did VRAA (I think it was last summer...), when we had the two huge teams, it become a dull slog for me. It also didn't help that there was an obvious troll on the other team that was scoring bogus points. When I called them out, I got verbally abusive PMs from some of the other team members. I don't need crap like that. I'll never do VRAA again.

I'll run three later tonight as a warm-up for PT exercises.

Ooh! Ooh! I know this one! You're supposed to add the words "in bed" after your fortune. See, I can be a librarian too.

Hiyas

I only left myself 20 mins this morning to workout so I ran for 20 mins on the TM. I figured something was better then nothing.

And I was still really late. *sigh* I am so disorganized.

Finally going to our bike club holiday shindig tonight. 5 hours open bar and dj. Should be fun. Snowshoe hiking planned for tomorrow.

Yeah...where is choovie when we need her.

Went to the dr. in Medford to get results of some tests. Was told I'm in excellent shape......for a 60 YO.....Damn, he had to add that qualifier. The colonoscopy is next month so I'm not that excited about the results yet. Unfortunately, southern OR is the obeisity capital of the US, so I'm takin' it with a grain of salt. A couple of generations ago, he probably would of told me I was average for my age.

8.3 miles on the Bear Creek Greenway, beautiful sunshine...50°F........1 mile WU at 9:30, 6.5 miles at 8:30ish tempo (no worries Tamster, don't think I can hold that for 13.1 in a couple of weeks. I'll still be chasin you), 0.8 mile CD at 9:20. New shoes and a brand new pair of compression socks too.

Opie, we had about 18 inches dump on us, between Wednesday during the day and overnight into Thursday. But the temps got out of the freezing range and the plows were all over it, so the roads have been in pretty decent shape. We're due for some more snow over the weekend, but I don't think it's going to be of any significant accumulation.

No baffed or knackering for me today I wanted to mix it up a little so I did a 20 minute warmup followed by 2 minutes hard/2 minutes easy for 40 minutes ending up with 7.66 miles in 60:00 (7:50 pace) at 3% incline gaining 1,218 ft elevation. The hard parts started at 6:58 pace and went down to 6:40 pace with the recovery at 8:27 pace.

Guessed right on the pace as it was a challenging workout but not really hard.

What a beautiful sunset I had during my run! 5 mi. easy on the hilly road. Hydrating now with light organic soymilk but I think a beer will hit the spot even better.

eta-25:20 out and 24:50 back.
