So good I have had two :¬)

Rip - basically parked the bike on the turbo when winter started (October) although I do a 3.4 mile commute to my office which feels a bit like a Death Run somedays.

Still snotty today, seems like I have been bordering on ill since the week before my 40 mile race but I do seem to be getting better all the time now(Finally)

Just a gentle 6 miles at lunchtime about 7.30 pace I think.

I have a 26.2 mile run tomorrow, my last long run ahead of my 100km in 2 weeks. Have given up on trying to get lots of miles in and am now just trying to start healthy.

Almost looking forward to running less and riding more, I have found the last 2 months with illness and serious ultra distance racing quite hard and that was not expected.

Take care

Hi Gobi & KS

No crunchies here, don't know what they are anyway. Gobi,I like how you say you have a 26.2 mile run tomorrow, last one before the 100K...26.2 mile or 31 mile run would be the highlight of my year. Good luck....and I'll second KS's question. "Hows Mrs. G doing??"

I think the planet is starting to get pissed off.

good luck at your 10K tomorrow KS, hope the weather;s nice.

12.3 combination trail and dirt road run...got in about 8 on the trail when some of the local survivalists, tweakers, end of times nuts, take your pick, started firing off some loud weaponry a little too close to where I was running, so I came down off the ridgetop and did a couple of loops on one of the unimproved roads around here. Usually the shootin don't start till noon or so...9AM this morning.

Nice persistence TW

Good running to all

Hi crunchie muncher, easy runner and target practice.

Today was "hammer time". 10:30 am treadmill 2% incline

Warmed up first 3 miles, 8:10,7:30,7:07. Next 5 in 6:49, 6:44, 6:40, 6:33, 6:31.

Last part just fast enough to finish with 8.52 miles in 60:00. Definitely at race effort the last couple miles.

With the incline, the 5 mile portion should equal about 31:30 5 mile. Right on pace if I want to run 64 for 10 in a couple weeks.

8.34 miles with hill repeats, sluggish slow legs, but I got 'er done. Well, maybe they weren't "repeats" in the technical sense of the term, but I ran 4x over a one-mile street that has a nice-sized hill in the middle of it.

Good luck to the racers this weekend.

MrsG has had a better week but it is still hit and miss.

We are waiting for her papers to reach the local surgery so she can be referred for new scans.

Thank you all for your concern.

Like many of you I have been watching the news and finding it all quite distressing. I hope none of us know anyone caught up in it all.

I just ate this so I need a workout now. It's too windy and there have been fires like crazy, so I don't feel like a ride. Guess I'll go to the Y for a swim. Been wanting to this week but it hasn't worked out. Next week, we'll be doing that in the Bahamas!

I'm in the boot but will take it off to drive to the Y. Had an MRI today so I'll find out what that showed when we get back. See you guys then.

I don't know what a crunchie is either, but if it has sugar, I'm all over it! Been fighting the craving all week - successfully so far.

gobi, I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Now if Mrs G could just get a diagnosis so she can feel better too...

ks, good luck tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you when I'm out on my run.

now, Johnny, that's exactly why I'm leery of running alone in remote areas - you just don't know what's out there! I wish I felt more comfortable doing it because I have access to some great trails, but I just get too nervous about my surroundings to enjoy it.

Hi rip, OM, Opie, and anyone else looking in.

mike, what's "GA" and "moh" mean when you guys use it about your runs?

GA is general aerobic and moh is miles of hills.

Happyfeat - I never let my wife run alone in the city let alone on trails. Overly cautious I know but too many angry and weird people out there. Sometimes she does anyhow. :)
