Then, I had a slimfast to hold me over, but soon the hunger set in.
So, I had the last of the left over spaghetti from our movie dinner the other night....and couldn't seem to get enough milk. Odd....that milk craving.

What cravings exist for y'all after your runs?
Are they different for short vs. long runs?
heat vs. cold?

Yup.
Wasn't college great? We were invincible, fearless, stupid, and got away with it!

I usually only get cereal when I visit my parents or sister. For some reason, I can't keep milk from going sour in my fridge. So, when I crave it, I buy a small amount, drink it, and then do without until the next craving.

Oh, I've got lots of cereal loves... regular cheerios, honey nut cheerios, captain crunch, pretty much all flavors,...basically I could live off most of the sugary kid's cereal, but I try to limit my intake of that or I would be 100 lbs heavier. So, regular cheerios is sort of my mainstay.

Oh, then there's oatmeal. I could eat that for my 3 daily meals. I.Love.Oatmeal.

Yup....
That's me too.
I find that I must force myself to get something in to me in order to prevent the "I must eat the door to my office" feeling that comes around about 3 hrs after a swim or long run.

It makes a HUGE difference for me to have recovery food immediately post workout to stave off the post-workout-binge

If it was easy - then something tiny like a banana or small handful of nuts.
If it was hard - then 1/2 recovery drink + bannana or nuts, maybe pretzel or cracker
If it was LONG - then recovery drink + a meal within an hour or so
If it was LONG AND HARD - then recovery drink + snack + meal within an hour or so

the post-workout refuel is an important part of recovery. Making sure your body gets what it needs to rebuild is KEY. It will make tomorrow's workout better

The other day, after my swim workout, I was looking for some of that. I went to no fewer than 6 minimarts before I found one that stocked it AND still had some in the fridge case. Sheesh!

Cold pizza, cold pizza, and cold pizza. I almost always crave cold pizza, maybe not right away but pretty much right after I stretch and shower. Deluxe or sausage & mushroom...or Happy Joe's taco pizza.

I once got into Bicycling magazine because I answered "Lots and lots of Tootsie Rolls" to their reader question, "What's the strangest thing you've craved after a ride?"
