So where's everyone at this weekend.

I'll be at Georgia Tech vs Virginia for Homecoming (No, I did not graduate from GT) with the grand nephew. It starts at 3:30 and I''m not sure which network is carrying the game but I'll be on the mezzanine level just above the band. So wave and and I'll wave back. I'll be wearing a gold GT polo shirt and blue jeans. Temps should be a pleasant 80 degrees or so at game time. Both teams have glaring deficiencies. So it could be a very boring game similar to GT at Wake Forest last week or a blowout on the part of either team. GT's defense is somewhat suspect. And the GT offense is not good at playing catchup if UVA should get out in front by say 10 points or so. So it just depends which team comes more motivated. Hopefully the Engineers. I'll pull for a GT 31 UVA 21 score at the end of the game.

Tennessee is at Georgia for a 12:21 kickoff - don't know why they don't simply call it a noon game. UGA is favored by 11 points and I'm not sure why. I think they may win but more by 3 or 7. Despite being 1-4 currently UGA can still win their SEC Division and play for the SEC Championship depending how South Carolina and Florida end up in November at the end of the season. A loss here will send UGA fans screaming for the entire coaching staff to be fired. Although I think Mark Richt's job is safe until at least next season.

Georgia State is in the Georgia Dome against a 0-5 team so they should win pretty easily. I forget the name of whom they are playing.

Well drats. Does this mean I'll miss the game if I go today?

I fixed the date in the title - hopefully GT's football team is more attentive than I am or it's going to be a long game.

I'll be on my couch tomorrow night watch the Gators take on LSU. If there's one good thing about the debacle in Alabama last week, it's that we can't possibly play worse. Or make stupider play calls from within the opponent's 3 yard line.

Yeah, the SEC East is still up for grabs. But I think it's gonna come down to the winner of the Florida-USC game on Nov 13, unless one of these two teams really blows up. Florida has a bunch of key guys banged up (Demps, Brantley, Burton, etc), but most of the injuries seem minor, and they'll all play this week. Somehow we're favored by 7.5 vs LSU. Coming off that last game, I'm not sure we should be favored by 7.5 over Vanderbilt. At least this one is at home...

I will be watching BSU pummel the Toledo Rockets. The rockets lost to Wyoming last week and BSU beat Wyoming 51 to 6. I fear a blowout will ensue. I hope not as I'd like to see an interesting game, unlike the snooze fest against NMSU last weekend.

I suspect I'll be flipping channels back and forth between the BSU/Toledo game and the Florida/LSU game.

Bama is on the road at South Carolina. I'll be listening to it on the road while driving home from tomorrow morning's marathon in Jackson, MS. Thank God for XM radio. I should be able to keep up with all the afternoon games. I'll be at home on my couch in time to watch LSU/Florida and whatever other games are on in prime time.

Maybe the SEC won't win another national title this year. But both divisions are WIDE open right now. October and November will be fun down south...

I'm finally home from the Georgia Tech/Virginia game after stopping off at Golden Corral while taking the grand nephew back to his house after the game. It was a good game, but GT should have had at least 10 more points in the game. They did win under a hot, hot, cloudless sky 33-21 but they also flubbed a couple of red zone opportunities. They may get away with that against a team like Virginia, but they will pay dearly doing that scenario against Miami or Georgia later this year.

I am stuffed so going to catch up on other scores.

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend so far. For every disillusioned Alabama fan tonight there is a corresponding ecstatic South Carolina fan dancing in the streets of Columbia, SC. Such is college football.

I was down at the lake with no TV...well just 2 Canajun stations and One was Hockey NIGHT in Canada starting at noon...geesh.

I did get to listen to Boise State on the drive home thatnks to Sirius. Boise State just goes crazy in very quick spurts and turns one of those "Oh crap can this be happening?" into a snoozer in a couple of minutes.

The third stringers sure got to play a lot though.

Where will Alabama be in the polls on Monday? #6??

Too bad they lost now. It was going to be the upset of the century when Ga State beat them in the final game of the season (OK, maybe not on this planet, But Reb can dream)

GA State 55 Savannah State 21....the Crimson Tide are cringing.

Next week I'm looking for the O teams to lose:

Ohio State...Wisconsin at Madison...fingers crossed.

Oregon...not playing...probably won't lose.

Oklahoma....Iowa State...ok, nevermind

I could see Oklahoma and Oregon and Ohio State running the table, along with Boise State and TCU.

Five undefeated teams...pick 2 for the BCS Championship.

Wait a second. CBS would put a bajillion in publicity to get the SEC winner in there...even if it was Georgia at 8-4.
