Or so I'd like to think. Heh.

Took over an hour longer than it should have to get to the airport yesterday thanks to 2 jacked up Semi's in a 5 mile period. But I finally collected Maureen and we had a good time hanging out yesterday.

Oskar graduated from kindergarten last night with outstanding potential. That's what his certificate says. heh. Obedience classes start 2/4, I think. That's an 8 week session.

I'm going to try for 8 miles on the tm this morning, but am waiting for the oven to get up to temp so I can put my cake for brunch tomorrow in to bake.

GOOD LUCK to the Houston peeps!

Clare - LOVE the snowmen. It makes me happy to see them in people's yard and wherever. You just don't see enough of them around. And, voted.

G'morning, everyone.

I should have gotten my a$$ out of bed this morning for a run, but (after Pippin got me up for a restroom break around 6:00am), it was too tempting to just stay in bed. While I could hop on the TM now, I'm actually enjoying a lazy morning. Space heater on my feet. One dog by my feet, trying to weasel more heat from said space heater. Another sits by me on the couch buried underneath the covers. The sun is shining brightly, and I'm watching Pit Boss on Animal Planet. Life is good. :)

I'll get 3-5 later this evening, I suppose.

Have a great weekend folks, and GOOD LUCK to the Houston peeps! :)

Oskar is a good little pup, isn't he!! Awww!

Hope everyone in Houston is having a great time! I saw a couple of pictures Maria and Tim posted on Facebook. Looks awesome!

Off to read the threads I have missed throughout the week. Love to you all!

So jealous of our peeps in Houston right now. I have been following the trials all morning. Men are almost done. They went out aggressively and are paying for it, but looks like it will be Meb, Hall then Abdi. Women still have a ways to go, but its Davilla, Goucher, Flannagan and Hastings. Cool stuff. (Yes, I am a huge geek). :)

morning peeps

Did some light speed work this morning - 60 sec on / 90 off @ somewhere around interval to tempo. The hip is still tight. I have a date with mr foam roller in just a wee bit.

2 of our MN men runners dropped out of the trials :( I know one of them recently had an injury creep up and that is most likely the cause for him, other guy, no idea. boo

Just talked to DH and he had to get off the phone because some chick from NY was bugging him :)

Duck - supah excited about your come-back, Tobey's able guidance and partnership and DW's training. Very cool stuff.

I geeked out all morning on the Oly trials and can tell you next time: I'll be there. I am kicking myself for not doing it this year. What AWESOME motivation would today have been for a race tomorrow. Speaking of which, go get 'em everyone, whether you are in Houston or Phoenix, rock the house, do us proud, have lots of fun, and be sure to have a celebratory beer at the finish!

It was freaking cold here and the roads are a mess so I did my run on the TM. I know no one gives a crap about my miles or paces, so rather than bore you with them, I'll just say I was very pleased. Tomorrow is my long run. Fingers crossed that roads will clear *a little bit more* - looking for around 16 miles.

Moonie and Bard - I also hope the weather is a little bit better for you tomorrow. It should be. Have fun and know I will be thinking of you! Woot!

Good luck Bob, Tim, Maria, and anyone else racing that I've overlooked!

We signed the lease and got the keys today. We each packed up a load of stuff in our cars and took it over late this afternoon, mostly just the awkwardly shaped items. Furniture and boxes are piled up ready for the move tomorrow, we get the truck at 9am and have a few people coming to help. We have a little bit left to pack but should be able to go to bed at a normal time tonight, and be up-and-at-'em in the morning. I've been in this tiny apartment nearly 9 years, the longest I've lived anywhere except the house where I grew up. Never thought I'd be here this long, actually...

Hi all - wanted to give my props to the Houston peeps and everyone else still to race (boB...anyone else?)

Like Bard mentioned, icy temps await our move tomorrow. Won't break out of the 20s based on the weather reports, but we'll make due. It's pretty fun to think that we now have a place of our own to makeover as we see fit.

Duck - sounds like you're well on your way back!

Anyway, stay warm folks, and have a good Sunday everyone!

Yay - I saw that Tim PRed with a 3:15 - woot!! Can't wait to hear how everyone else did.

The boys got invited to a last-minute sleep over, so I got to go out last night! I went to hear DH's band and ended up dancing the night away. I hadn't been out to a gig in a long time and it was super fun. I didn't get home until late, so I am dragging some, but I had planned to do my long run later today anyway in hopes the temps would increase a bit and the roads would clear some more. It is currently 32 degrees and the sun is shining! Yay! I will hit about 16 miles.

Hopefully it is nice and beautiful in Ohio today for moving day.

Yay, Tim! I hope everyone did great in Houston!

I didn't do great, but I finished here in AZ. My left ankle started hurting at Mile 17, and I reigned it in after that. I basically hobbled in for the last 9 miles and finished in 4:19. Not great by any means, but it still counts. And at least it's not my worst. I've been slower twice, I think.

Meh, good enough...
