Let's not be boring!

OK...I'll post something....and this has nothing to do with the current topic...

OK...here's something....a sign in Wharton State Forest, which takes up about 1/5 of New Jersey...

What I like about this is the hundreds of staples on it. I have no idea why the sign they have stapled on it hundreds of times is not there...maybe it's a seasonal thing. A running buddy of mine (retired) was a Ranger...maybe he knows.

OK... this one is done by DD#2...who just has a knack. It's not like she frames up shots...she just takes them...the little creep...A friend of mine, who SELLS photos (as a side job) called this one "contest worthy)...

I just think it's friggin' awesome. And the kick of it is...she just points and shoots...doesn't even think about it. She has "the eye".

This was taken at an abandoned farm in the winter of 2010...(in my little South Jersey town, of course)

Same place, same day....inside a silo...

These are some of the better pictures my son took during our Australia trip. He used a Kodak C360 point-and-shoot.

"Tower, downtown Sydney"

It's hard to find a place where you can get the entire tower in-frame, but I think he did a good job with this one.

"Two birds in a pond, Sydney Botanical Gardens"

I think of this as a "jigsaw puzzle" picture. I like the bird's reflections and the blue flower mass to the left. This image hasn't been retouched, but I've played around with adding some fill which makes the image clearer (you can more easily tell these are birds, for example). I'm afraid that it would be very easy to add too much fill, though, so I'm hesitant to add any.

"Fruit bats, Sydney Botanical Garden"

These are big suckers, about 15" long, and they do fly around a bit during the day. They're fairly majestic in flight, but kind of creepy when they're hanging around like this.

"You talkin' to me?"

This was taken at dusk with a flash, so it's a little dark. (Again, adding some fill can lighten it up.) Ryan was fascinated with these birds and was constantly trying to get good pictures of them. I like how the bird seems to be staring back at you with a bit of an attitude - sort of like D'Niro in "Taxi Driver".
