I've already tried to post a thread once, gave some kind of error and didn't save my text, so this one will not be as elaborate.

Good morning everyone.

BBS - have a great run.

Me - I did a 30 minute time-trial today on my trainer. I am really out of shape. I did a 20 minute warm-up gradually increasing the intensity and finished the warm-up with 5 x 30 seconds sprints with 30 secend recovery. After the warm-up I did a 5 minute rest/stretching and then back on the bike for 1 minute. Then I started the 30 minute time trial. I tried not to start off too fast and burn out. I think I did a pretty good job at keeping at the same intensity during the entire ride. As approached 20 minutes I was ready to get off the bike the legs were burning but I continue to maintain. My speed didn't taper off too much toward the end of the time trial. It only dropped about .2 mph during the last 10 minutes and I was able to maintain an average cadence of 90. Now I have something to guage my training; I plan on doing a time-trial every 4 weeks or so.

To keep myself from getting bored I watch Inside-Endurance Sports by Gatorade on youtube. I watched all 12 episode. It was pretty interesting to watch.

Happy Training Everyone!

BBS - I really am out of shape. About 15-20 pounds heavier and resting HR is up about 10 beats and at 70% HR my pace is about 30 - 45 seconds slower than just 4 months ago. I should have never taken so much time off. I am working on rebuilding my base. It should come back around pretty quickly if I don't over do it.

BBS--nice niner. Enjoy the day.

David--Yah, you really looked obese when we met. But I get it. I'm 3lbs over my max, 8lbs over idea race weight and I certainly feel it.

"Long" run this morning. My goal for off season long runs is 10-15. I've been feeling really stressed and drained so for the second week in a row I went short. Same route as last week. I asked the legs about adding the extra little loop. Nope. Well, how 'bout the longer way back in? Nope. Ended up with 9.0m at a sluggish 9:06pace. I'll take it. A short run tomorrow morning, then my next run will be in North Carolina!!!

Good holiday cheer to everyone this morning!

BBS -- A very nice run!

Dave -- Sounds like Joe Friel's time trial, no? And cut yourself a little slack. You're an Ironman, and you've earned an extended transition period. Good hear you've got that fire in your belly to keep on!

Mom -- Meh. Wish all runs could be like your best run. Not what we signed on for, I guess.

Me -- Gonna pick up the holiday ham and head to the Y for a little swim before the pool closes early. Then a long run this afternoon. Then traditional Christmas Eve nachos at my aunt's place.

Hello holiday kicksters,

Busy day here as well. Taking care of some last minute Santa duties with DW. Then it's back home for a 7-miler followed by preparing my world famous Christmas Eve pasta. OK so I'm not the one who made it famous but I'll take credit. Then I'll darken my church's doorway for midnight mass. So a full day lies ahead.

BBS - hope you get it all in

Dave - what Chances said +1

Merry Christmas Eve!

Got out for 12 miles with my buddy and his kid. Plan was for back half to be m-pace. Well, it started like that then became a tempo run then a hammerfest... the 12 yr old got me at the end. Good workout. 25F cool, crisp and sunny.
