Good Morning Sleepy Heads!

Chilly out here this morning in CT. When I left, it was 23 degrees out. My face and hands still feel cold. 7 untimed, slow, stiff miles. Later today, my son's outdoor team has their last game - a friendly one against the parents. Ought to be fun!

Good runs/bike rides/etc. to all.

Rest day on tap for me.

Hee hee, you're a funny guy!

I also am sending good wishes to Gin and Lab for speedy racing today.

I'm lounging about here, contemplating all the stuff I need to get done today after church. It's downright balmy this morning and would have been a good day for a run...but I'm taking the day off to rest my weary legs after yesterday's effort. (23 degrees, Pink...sounds really cold. I'm not ready for that kind of cold yet ).

I just had our treadmill serviced about a month ago since we've now had it for 2 years and done no maintenance. The service guy told me it needed a new motor (it had been making a whining noise, but I just blew it off). The motor was under warranty, so I was glad I had the maintenance done. Anyway, he came back and installed the motor on Friday...so I'm ready for the bad weather when it hits.

Good running (and resting) today, gang.

Isn't Labduck doing a 5-miler today? Am I overestimating or underestimating the Duck's Super Powers?

I think I read that Labduck wanted to run 35:00 for his race today, but I'm betting he won't be able to slow himself down enough...33:30

long pants, jacket, gloves, hat...all at once. but a beautiful sunny day.
12M or so, part of it lost in the wildlife area. 1:45 for time.

I like this slacking month. This week I ran 6, 5, and today's 12. All easy.

i think labduck's time will depend on the number of sandwiches racing.

same temps a millbot... one of my running pals actually wore gloves (hey, we're sensitive here in the desert). started a smart 18 miler at somewhere near 9 min pace and finished with some quick ones at the end... much better than my solo effort last weekend where i started too fast... running with people pays off in so many ways.

tomwhite, your post is useless without pictures.

Nice running MC and Pro
45 on the spinner and some corework

Tom you're right....I'm feeling old and sorry. No wind rushing past my cheeks, lurking in sunless shadows, mulling through a meanless silence. Another week off the trail and I'll be ready for the wood chipper.
But MC's right, please make sure you have a camera next time.

have a great day!!!
I want to run where tomwhite runs when it' s 34 degrees. nice hh outing sir. How is Claire?

I see hippo has committed to a 12 hour run which he deems a "sprint" event. In the south, we have a phrase to describe his type....we say "that boy ain't right."

pro....lost? it was only a scheduled 4 miler? Nice run.

nice run mcsolar......see, people are good for something

I plugged Lab's variables into my computer last week and gave him his finishing time. That should have resolved the matter.

Pink....nice run. When you gave the temp of 23 degrees, it made mentioning the stiff, slow part unnecessary.

I'm going to do 5 or so miles later this afternoon with a friend who is coming back from an injury induced layoff. The sad part is, i'll still have to push my normal pace just to stay in his comfort zone. grrrrr

I better go check the race reports and see how everyone fared. Have great workouts today and othewise enjoy yourself.

Even I didn't wear gloves today & it was in the 40's well cooler than yesterday, but still warmer than the last couple of weekends.

I did a 3.5 mile run/walk (2.6 of it running) today. I had planned to do an easy 2 or 3 miles, but for some unknown reason I picked the hilly part of the bikepath. So, I walked when I needed to... since 1) didn't warmup properly & it took me a long time to warmup up the bronchials 2) body just didn't like those hills... probably due to pushing a little yesterday at the 5K..

But hey at least I stopped when I needed to, and even though I wanted to make it an even 3 for the running at the end, I maintained and walked an extra mile to the car after I turned the Garmin off.

5 mile race today...and the winning number is....34:16 (6:51/mi)! 20 OA, 3 AG.
I was pleased by this effort. The first 4 mile splits were all around 6:58/mi, and the last mile at around 6:30. I didn't hold anything back. The two guys who beat me in my AG were guys I normally beat, but I suppressed my competitive instinct and let them go. Live to race another day...

My foot felt fine during and after the race, but my hamstrings are a bit tender. But it's a good pain.

Along with the 5 mile race, there was also a 2.5 mile competitive walk. Mrs. Labduck was the overall winner! She got hardware for it too. I'm very proud of her.
