Ok, sensitive issue here- Pun intended.

Do you all find that you chafe more in the extreme heat. I'm chafing places I almost never chafe and in places I've lubed. For me, I think it's because of how much I sweat, but what do the rest of you think.

Yes, I chafe worse when it's hotter (I am sweatier) or when it's raining really hard (and I am soaked).

For me, it is more about the humidity, because the clothes get wet and stay wet. Wet clothes are sticky clothes, sticky clothes rub more.

At least in hot weather bodyglide goes on easier.

This is true for everybody.

A few other things:

1) The older, more used your clothing, the more broken down the fibers, the more you will likely chafe. Make sure to either hand wash your tech gear or, if you're like me and don't have time to do that, wash on gentle cycle and do not -- I repeat, do not -- place in drier. Instead, hang to dry. Drier breaks down the clothing fibers far, far more quickly. If you really must dry, dry on cool, air setting. No heat.

2) Salty sweaters have more chaffing issues. Ever do an event in the extreme heat and see that white salt dried to the side of your face? Well, that is the same stuff that is in your sweat. Those "salt crystals" -- at a more micro level -- sit on your skin and act as sandpaper when clothing or other skin rubs against it. So the more salty a sweater you are, the worse chaffing issues you'll have.

What everything you all said is me in a nutshell. I am a VERY salty sweater, and also a VERY HEAVY sweater. I was soaked for MOST of my 100 miles. I'll just have to relube now and then.

thanks, All!
