Anthony --I don't know about the race but your blog is great and does provide some motivation for running in circles on a windy, forsaken piece of LI! Loved the map, and the historical description, and your own race description -from an artistic point of view, well designed and fun to read

Thanks a lot. I've been working on it a lot. I'm hoping that it becomes a motivational, inpirational, and educational blog, filled with gear reviews, race previews/reviews/reports, and, of course, info about my own running experiences.

Despite the monotony of the Caumsett course, I very much enjoy the event (and all of the NY Ultrarunning Series events) simply because our little community here in NY is so much fun. I can't wait to write previews of Sybil and Greenbelt.

See ya soon !

Anthony - I didn't even know NY had an ultra community. I can't begin to tell you how much I am looking forward to meeting all of you.

I hope the cool kids like me.

Sorry, no pontification, as the race is family friendly.

Actually, no pontification since I'm bagging the Bear Mountain run on Saturday to focus on the Sunday race.

Oh, and because my ride home is really fast, and he needs to get back to the city quick, so no lollygagging on my part.

Not going to even comment on what lollygagging sounds like.

See you Sunday!

Yeah, I'd hate to get caught lollygagging in the Caumsett Park public toilets on Sunday between loops.

BTW, say hello if you see me. I pretty much look like I do in my avatar photo, but I won't be wearing a tie, and I've mended the hole in my crotch (I will, of course, be wearing jeans for the race).

I certainly will - I look like my avatar as well, slightly more in focus and in Technicolor. Actually, I'll switch over to a normal photo, for easier recognition.

Chances are, I will also be the shortest girl there.

Well, to be perfectly truthful, I will most likely look nothing like my avatar. After lunch I will replace with a winter running photo.

Is it sick that we're so cheerful? Considering what we were in the process of doing?

Here's my favorite race photo:

However, if the weather is fairly nice, I may look more like this:

If, by chance, the weather does a complete freak out, I may even look like this:
