Great to see everyone out there today. Some great performances (including a near national record from winner Michael Wardian). Congrats to Divaleh and Merigayle for winning USAT&F awards (amazing job girls), and to the rest of the Kickrunner crew (Beardobees, Emmy, Frank, Eddie (with a new 50kPR), and everyone else that I missed) that performed so well. I'll have full race report on my Blog within a day or two. For now, enjoy a few pictures I took.

Neck gaiters, yes! or also called a buff. I believe Runsdangerously was sporting a nice one too! The course was very windy and we wore ours for several of the first laps.

Nice meeting y'all. Although I'd never think I'd enjoy a relatively flat loop course on pavement, I was never bored for a second, and the loop itself had some variety. I began counting down after the halfway mark; however, the last three loops were really, really tough. I just hope I stop this waddling before I have to head to work.

Emmy, what place did you end up in the USATF? I was standing there when the 2nd-place woman went up there for her award and check--only to have her confess she wasn't a USATF member. Ditto for the 3rd.

BTW, the award ceremony was a bit bizarre in that derelict room with the busted walls. And did anybody see the all the lady bugs in the window? And the video tape atop the filing cabinet titled "Rabies and You"? My constitution was a bit compromised by the race, leaving me a bit too vulnerable to this confluence. I just wanted to go home.

I think Emmy got 3rd female overall. I found the 8th and 9th loops to be the hardest!! Especially since people were finishing their race when i was coming in for those last loops Beardobees- you are one fast man!

Beardobees - hope you're feeling better! I didn't notice the ladybugs, or the video (they must have been above my shortie line of vision)

Meri - I agree, those 8th and 9th loops were killer. I couldn't have done it without your company...thanks again for allowing me to tag along

I made it home in fairly good time - just a few snafus on the L.I.E (the sun glare was a bitch, and thankfully I missed at least 2 accidents that happened juuuuuust before I got there). Surprisingly, I'm in pretty good physical shape today - mostly sore I think from the unforgiving pavement.

However, I was a zombie by the time I got home last night. I don't know if it was the incessant wind, or the sun on the ride home. But I passed out after dinner, leaving the BF to take the rolls out of the oven when it beeped. I woke up 45 minutes later, came downstairs to find him asleep on the couch, and the onion rolls still baking away. Needless to say, we'll be baking a new batch this evening

Meridith and Stacy --congrats on coming home with hardware!! and on being 7th and 8th USATF woman. Anthony -looking forward to reading your blog. Brennen --thank goodness Frank made me sign up for USATF (renewed my 2007 membership) 10 minutes before the race.
I lucked out and got $150 (first master money) as I was the second master --a 51 year old woman from LI came in 2 min. before me but was not a USATF member. Neither were the 2nd and 3rd place women, so I got a nice 3rd place medal. Did you guys get your splits printed out by a lady in the chip room? That was really cool -she plugged in a bib number and out came the splits. I had a tough time with the wind and couldn't get comfortable on the asphalt...the middle loops were really tough. I am sorry that we missed seeing Meri, and Stacy and eddie finish --congrats to all of you.

I did get my splits and they were impressively even, every lap within a minute of the last, except the first (short) lap and the lap with the bathroom break Pretty cool. Emmy-- good thing you renewed

LOL - I didn't realize just how much Meri had to stoop down in order to get a picture with me.
