Alright- so maybe some of you can take a compliment- but the real question is- Can you take a punch?<br><br>
Not a parody thread.<br>
Have you been in a situation where you have to have that tested? (I hope not in anyone's case).

Not to my head... I've been hit there too many times and I can get a concussion from bumping my head on the kitchen cabinet, happened just the other day!<br><br>
Let's say that I can still take one, but consider myself a lover now, not a fighter. For example, someone wants to fight me, I respond with, "I'm a lover, not a fighter, now pull your pants down." - that usually gets them to walk away.

in high school i did taekwondo, and there was this one drill where we took turns punching each other in the stomach. It was a controlled punch, but it was good practice for training your body to handle it when you do get hit. Just keep your abdominal muscles active (not too tight) and start letting your breath out slowly when you see the punch coming, then in a short burst when it hits. not applicable for sucker punches.

I've heard tall boys get a lot of shorter guys picking fights with them to compensate for their 'short man complex' have you found this to be accurate, Gish?

I can't say if they were compensating or not, but I had <i>lots</i> of small guys pick fights with me.<br><br>

Possibly. A full on unblocked haymaker? Most likely not. I've studied fighting a bit, though and am pretty sure I could block enough or get out of the way enough to take the edge off the brunt of it and finish the fight, all things being equal.<br><br>
When it comes to blows, who can take a punch is a better determinant of who wins than who can deal out the beatings (in general and within limits of course).
