I've gotten several messages today about the useless posts in the PRT?

Can someone explain to me what, if anything, happened?

i don't mind useless drivel; but when i get complaints that 'quality' threads get pushed down because of nonsense shitposts for no other reason than to see what would happen

To me this is spam activity and simply isn't acceptable. Bandwidth costs money. I'm not interested in paying for any spam - PERIOD.

If all we have to offer people is a place to waste time and do this kind of stuff, then we've got nothing.

Mods. Please advise and update me on this.

thanks

I'm clueless about it. I only hung out in the PRT for maybe 10 min tops today and actually only looked at a couple threads. So I can't comment on the content of any others or what people are complaining about.

I got one complaint too. I have no idea. wasnt there enough to know. But what I did see appeared to be mostly junk, just stupid stuff. Did see a few good threads, but also lots of fluff.

I dont think it was intentional spam, just people playing games. Go look at them..... see what was posted.

I think, (hope) it was just one of those days and tomorrow will be better.

But again... I wasnt there enough to really know what went on.

I was only paying the slightest attention: RMAD may have only one thread a day, but it keeps me pretty busy.

I saw one comment about how the PRT has been busy and threads quickly go to page 8. Then a whole bunch of threads where the s/n ratio was -80dB.

I wasn't in there much either, but it looked like there was a high amount of parody threads meaning and saying nothing.

I think that kind of thing clutters up real communication in there. Hopefully it was just an off day.

I was away on training, and I've been away (and will be again) today. I'll see...

I noticed a higher volume of threads in the PRT, but I'm not sure its spam or other nonsense. I certainly don't have time to read ALL of the posts in the PRT.

I'm not sure its an urgent problem, but I agree that its somewhat annoying that threads sink so quickly to page two (or three). I'm not sure if its due to nonsensical threads, or that Kickrunners is just becoming more popular.

I can submit to the notion that some users create too many threads, but where do/can we draw a line on content? Who has the time to moderate fully?

What is a solution to curb new threads? I wonder, can Page One be increased from its current configuration of 25 threads on one page? And I say this in jest, but a form of the "90 second rule?"

Be prepared for an onslaught of CR'ers next week when they shut the forums down over there for 4 days.

Yup, I fully expect to see that!

Although it seems to have started already, with mostly boomers. (I'm sure you've noticed)
