We have a stream that runs along the back of our property and I've done some rock placement and built a dam to make the water sound louder, but we have a waterfall across the street. It's only about 8' tall and it flows under the road to our property. The sound of it all is so nice when we go outside. I keep wanting to record it.

Whitewater river in my backyard.

I can always hear water rushing, especially right after a big snow melt. It's especially nice in the summer sleeping with the windows open on the back of the house that overlooks the cliff, very soothing.

Ours dries up some in the summer too, depends on how much rain we've had, it definitely runs the biggest in the winter with snow runoff which is frustrating because it's too cold to go kayaking then. It's fed by a pretty big waterfall upstream half a mile and has some really nice swimming holes, it was definitely one of the selling points when we rented the house.

Yup. We live on a mountainside and have a seasonal brook that comes from runoff. And it sounds wonderful, especially since I got a hearing aid. I didn't realize it until then unless it was flooding out our next door, a little less elevated neighbors' house.

All year long. In the winter it runs under the ice, and there are open spots so you can still hear it. The otters like it, too.

Yes. We have a good size brook that travels down to the neighbors yard, and when the windows are open again in spring, some summers and fall, we can hear the rushing water and see it from our driveway ( which means the water is WAY up!) We have a small pond in our yard that fills the spring nights with the sounds of peepers and croaking frogs. It can dry out if water gets lean but we haven't had that problem for a few years.

I love that sound. I have a seasonal stream. It's been great with all the rain though this summer. I guess that was one good thing about a rainy summer.

My dog loves it too. SHe loves to go wading in the pools.
