Welcome everyone! I'm excited for this round and I hope you guys are, too! The first official day is Tuesday, so lets spend this time getting to know a lil about each other.

Our first order of business: Introduce yourselves. Although some of us know each other, others don't.. now is the chance to change that!

Secondly.. a team name.. Everyone post suggestions if you have them and then on Friday I'll make a list of all of them and this weekend we can vote on them.

Third.. e-mails. It'd be nice to have everyone's contact information so we can talk easily, of course this isn't required. I mean, the forums are here for a reason = D.. if you do not feel comfortable posting your email in public, feel free to PM me. My e-mail is [email protected]

Lastly, in your introduction... post a suggestion about the best way to motivate you. (e.g brute force or kind and gentle words in the right direction or something different) Although this is a competition, the main goal of this is to motivate ourselves and each other. I know I, and I'm pretty sure I can speak for BoyerDave by saying we want to do that to the best of our ability; as individuals and as a team.

_______________________________________

To settle the first part:

My name is Zack. I'm 17 years old, love running, chocolate milk, history, school, etc. When not running I'm usually watching the history channel or spending time with my lovely girlfriend. I registered to Kickrunners about 3 months ago and it's an awesome place! This is actually my first VRAA round so I hope to make it a success and I'll try to the best job, alongside Dave, in making this round phenomenal. The best way to motivate me is to remind me that it's a competition and that I'll just end up feeling guilty about things later, anyway.. so I might as well do the work now.

And of course, being my first VRAA round.. I may be leaning on Dave for a lot of support. At least some.. hope you don't mind = D

For team name suggestions:

-Quad Squad
-Quantum Thrusts... ? Yea, I don't know either.
-G-Unit
-Team Titan
-American Fury

That's about it for now! This rounds exciting! Time to go to school!!!!

Hi Team G!

I'm Marianne - a 32 year old mom of two. DD is 4 and DS is almost 7. I'm training for 2 marathons in May. I'm really excited about this round. The last round was my first and I thought it was so fun and really helped me to get more xtraining in.

At this time I have no suggestions for team names, but I will try to think of something. As for motivation, I think just reading about what all you guys are doing and knowing that I have other people depending on me will help. If I need a kick in the arse, I'll let ya know.

Zack ~ I'm sure you will be a great captain! Do you run for your school team or solo?

I’m an old overweight fart that still loves to run and race…been running over 25 years in So Cal where there’s never any excuse not to run. I’ve only been posting on KR for a few months but was on CR for more than 6 years so I see lots of familiar faces.

No need to motivate me…. I’m addicted to exercise. My big problem is injuries….coming off piriformus syndrome that stopped me in my tracks last summer but I do have my mileage back up to 40mpw, albeit very slow (good thing there’s no bonus points for speed ). I am at my limit for running mileage but if we need a few extra points I can probably be talked into hopping on my bike for a long ride.

ksrunr here. ksrunr at hotmail dot com

53 y.o. and have been running for 38 years. Past year have run 18:36 5k, 40:20 10K, 126:06 1/2 and 3:13 disney marathon. Jut finished this weekend the first Texas Independence Relay of 204 miles. Our team finished 14th of 127 registered and 14th if 88 finishing teams. Won all master's divisions. Don't need any motivation.

Married 31 years and have a son who races professional bikes and daughter in last semester of A&M CC who will graduate with her bachelors degree in nursing.

I live in CC, TX and it will be brutal hot and humid here in a few weeks.

This is my third VRAA. I've won oa on the first one and our team was second and we finished 4th last round. Need to win one but if we don't; next time.

Jayhawk basketball fan.

Any team name is fine for me. Prefer something not vulgar or sexually suggestive. I'm too old for that.

Well good morning to Team G. I am David, 38 yo male, I have been running for a little over 5 years now. I am military and this is my second round. Looking forward to it. i am currently training for a Triathlon on March 15. So I actually just started my taper today. So next week will be a little short on points for me.

The bad thing is I have nothing scheduled for races after the Tri. but i won't let you all down. I love to run/bike/swim/ruck/exercise.

I am married for 15 years now and have two wonderful children of 12 & 15. the keep me and the wife busy.

this will be my last round of VRAA until late summer as I will be heading overseas in support of the war. So let make this round a Gold!

Thank you, in advance, for what you are doing!!!!!!!!

Umm, I'm Theia and I'm the Queen of Crosstraining! My mileage is low compared to most folks, but I'm a part-time fitness instructor and personal trainer so I get lots of points for other activities. 41 years old (sob!), married, five critters at home (1 dog and 4 cats), and addicted to exercise. The rest of you guys motivate me; I won't want to let you down, so I promise to do my part for the team!

The rounds starts Friday, yes? Or did that change?

Hi everyone!

VRAA Newbie here. Well known to the lovely Theia, though.

I'm Diane. I'm thirty-ten...OK, I'm 40, but I still post with the 30-somethings. I live just outside Boston with my husband and 2 kids (girl, 5-1/2, boy 3-1/2) and I work full time doing a job that is difficult to explain. (When we go for even longer intros, perhaps I can delve into it.) I've been running for 3 years this month, although a lot of that time has been spent nursing injuries.

I am someone who needs to exercise as many days per week as possible and being a part of a challenge like this is the ebst way to motivate me. I'm ruthlessly honest in my reporting, and feel a strong sense of obligation to my team.

Hiya,
Aija, here. Um, awkward pause. . . I tried to remove my name from the list - but here I am anyway. Which is cool, I just may not be too chatty. RL requires my heightened attention right now. 43 yr old Canadian female.

I'm training for a May marathon, currently running 60 miles weekly and building to 80 plus strength training. Best way to motivate me is positive recognition, but it's not really needed. I drive pretty hard on my own.

I like G-Force for a team name.

This is my second round of VRAA, I had a great time the last round, in spite of a couple of minor injuries that held me back a bit. Hi ksrnr!!

Hi everyone, my name is Brian. I'm a 43-year-old husband of one and father of 4 - 10, 12, 14 and 15. I live near and work in Albany, NY. (Isn't that gereat? I've got a head start to the last stop on the course!!)

I'm familiar with SLOJim, ksrunr and Aija from the Masters of the Universe forums, here and over at CR (R.I.P). I run some 5k's and 10k's every year, and decided to join this round of the VRAA because March-April is always my highest mileage period of the year. I do enough cross training to earn us a few extra points there. I work in state government and get most of my runs in on my lunch hour in order to preserve my humanity and sanity. I've participated in one other VRAA over at CR (R.I.P.), and found that just belonging to the team got me out the door plenty of times.

I don't have any races scheduled until the end of April, but that can be a good thing - I'll be building up my mileage all month.

Running solo at the moment, running for college next year - and yes the round starts Friday. If you have limited access.. you can e-mail me once every 3 days and I'll make sure the points get entered.. something like that

Aija, I read your retraction post on the registration list.. its up to you and whatever you feel comfortable with. No pressure to stay if you don't want to... but if you do, you're definitely welcome! = D

OHH!! and, does everyone want to enter their points into the database themselves or do you want me or Dave to do it? I'll check the threads each day, but I'll only enter what you have written if you request that I edit the scoring database for you. If you'd like to do it yourselves, go 'head = D. Just trying to avoid overlaps and scores which don't get registered

Ok ladies. Who's married to Eruu? You must talk smack to him this complete round and we must soundly defeat him for you.

Antag is like the dog who chases the car down a country road. Lots of bark and noise. But doesn't know what to do with the car when he catches it. I suspect he's the same with the ladies and his running.

My bark is worse than my bite.

And trust me, I know what to do with the car, usually it slams on it's breaks and I end up face first in the rear bumper.
