<p>Neat guy.  Was my second choice (first dropped out), and you know that something weird is about to happen when the most conservative paper in town endorses a lefty academic.</p>

<p>The other two main candidates would have been disasters.  One was a TV news anchor until August and her platform was "We'll do all the good things and none of the bad".  Or something like that.</p>

<p>The other guy was an alderman for 3 consecutive terms where he got the nickname "Dr. No" for opposing any spending at all and fighting any tax increases.  He changed suits this year and was for doling out the bucks.  Twit.</p>

<p>What's interesting is that locally they have often elected lefties to city politics, with the exception of Dr. No and a cohort of like-minded individuals.  Klein was a liberal in conservative clothing, Duerr and Bronco are liberals.  Nenshi is a social engineer.  Should be interesting.</p>
