Good morning all!!

{{{{{{{{FF}}}}}}}} I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. That's such a hard thing to deal with at any time of the year.

It's a glorious day here.... -7°C, sunny, and crisp. Decided to see if I could find some of a trail group in the Rouge Park (on the eastern edge of Toronto), but arrived too late...... saw a foursome returning shortly after I started out. Ran 10.25 wonderful miles solo through some well-worn park trails that I'd not run before. I saw two huge red-tailed hawks on a tree right by the path.... one of them had dropped a recently killed squirrel and were waiting until I passed before they could resume their lunch. Also found reminants of a coyote's meal (deer) that kept me moving at a good clip.... yikes!

Have a greta day, everyone!!

Hi Heme. {{FF}}

I had a perfect run and I too saw something wild, although I was on roads most of the time. In fact, when I found a new dirt road near the park I didn't see anything but when I was in a rich-people subdivision in the woods, I scared off a coyote. The sun came out during the run and that matched my mood, feeling strong.

The plan was to run strictly by time, 80 minutes, and I did. I was very happy to see when I got back here that I had a little over 8 miles so a sub-10 pace! After checking my log under both time or distance, that's the best run like that I've had. The funny thing was that it was mixed terrain and pretty hilly and yet I ran about a minute pace faster than I used to in that type of situation.

Sounds like a wonderful run, Heme! Love to see hawks and eagles and such like that.

{{FF}} So sorry about your mom, Finn. That's so hard to see them go like that. Good that you can take her with you on your run.

Where is everyone? RA is down so I thought maybe some RA folks would wander over here.

I didn't run yesterday, as I figured would be the case. Had fun with my goofy family, good dinner and shenanigans. Funny thing about having dinner so early (around 4) is that there's so much left of your evening afterwards! Sort of threw me all off though.

Today I do want to run, either outside or in. Gotta find my wrench for my treadmill though. You'd think I'd have gotten that all set up by now, but it's just one thing after another it seems. Not too bad outside today though, but a little breezier than I like. Even a little wind makes things pretty darn cold when it's -10 out! Still languishing around with my "no schedule/no plan" approach, but I'll have to figure something out and get busy. Mariposai and I are thinking about Newport on June 4, but it looks like it's filling up fast before I can nail down my plans!

[ETA: Hi Opie! Very nice run for you today!]

Butterfly hugs to FF and her family. I hold you dearly in my heart! I lost my mama 13 years ago and I still cry when I think of here. She was a grand lady!

No running around here, but I will go out eventually. I stayed in bed until past noon. Two sons are cooking lunch for DH and I, so spoiled we are!

Opie, great run! Running by time is fun!

Got the treadmill all cleaned up, lubed, vacuumed and put back together. Whew! Might need to tighten the belt a little bit more, but it was good to get back on it for a run. 8 miles, progressive pace run with 2 miles @ 8:50, 2 @ 8:34, 2 @ 8:20, then 2 @ 8:34. Gives me 19.3 for the week which is less than I was hoping for, but got a lot of other stuff done too (like 15 miles on the elliptical!).

Erika, My treadmill has been down about a year now. Can you come and fix it for me? Actually, I would have attempted it myself but was told I am not allowed to buy parts for it and I have to have a certified tech work on it so I have been putting it off and just going to the Anytime Fitness. I am guessing it is a computer board that got knocked out from the electric going on and off.

Day off for me after a good last week. I am planning on going down to Miami to watch a Heat game next month so I will have to find a race to do while I am down there. It will be interesting to see how well my uphill running is getting me in shape.
