Bux, over in Lakewood there's Green Mountain, Dinosaur Ridge, Red Rocks, Matthew-Winters, Bear Creek Lake, and the Bear Creek Trail.

Up in Golden, there's Apex, Windy Saddle, North and South Table Mountains, and Mt. Galbraith.

A great site to hit is http://dtr.runuphillracing.com. They've got lots of maps, and they have weekly runs.

If you want to drive a little bit for some fun snowshoeing - I had a great time in Winter Park near the YMCA. Lots of great snowshoeing and cross country skiing trails!

I was raised in Lakewood, and am very familiar with the mentioned trails near there. Good stuff!

While not Denver/Boulder, yesterday I did a 27 mile trail run up near Ft Collins along the "Devil's Backbone" trail. It was really nice and would make an excellent early season long run, as the snow melts off fast there. The main Devil's Backbone/Blue Sky trail runs from Hwy 34 near Loveland up to Horsetooth Rez west of Ft Collins. It's 21 miles out and back, but there are places to add additional (side spurs, especially the Coyote Buttes spur). You could also add 20-30 more miles on the Horsetooth and Lory State Park trails.

I had never been up that way to run, so figured I'd share the info in case anyone is looking for a nice change of pace.

Hey, Mountain People

I'm in Durango right now and lovin' it. Will be in the state for a couple, three weeks. Would love to get out for a run, if anyone's willing. Should be in Boulder and Denver areas soon.

I'm old but feisty. Trails, roads ... anything!
