Good morning, ladies. I hope everyone is well this morning.

Heh RFTL, good luck on the NYCM lottery, I guess. I got in thru the lottery on my 3rd try. I had just assumed that I'd get rejected again and would have to do it on the 4th year. I'm sure I'll do NYC again some day... But I'm not in any hurry to do it soon. It's the closest marathon to my house, and I still had to wake up 6 hours before I began the race. It's quite an experience. Just not one I'm ready to re-live quite yet...

It's still snowing out where you guys live?? Seriously, I don't know why people live there...

I ran at the track yesterday. I meant to do 4 miles at about 8:30 pace. But at one point, a high school kid was on my 6, and seemed content to just shadow me. I have no idea why. So I kept gradually increasing my pace, just to see if he would keep up. He tried, but he finally bailed once I reach a 7:40 pace. That made me feel good. Of course, at this point, I was only halfway done with the run, and I didn't want to slow back down. So I finished my 4 miles at an average pace of 7:52. Probably a lot faster than I should have gone, this close to an ultra. But what the heck, I felt good. I'll probably need to take today off though...

Oh, I checked the weather for my ultra on Saturday, and it calls for a high of 62 with a 70% chance of rain. Gee, that'll be fun. Nothing like being out there for 5+ hours in the rain. Chafe city!
