Okay, give me your opinions ladies and gents. I am going to start drinking these between meals because I can't force myself to snack all the time.

I tried ensure, and hated it--it tasted bitter to me. Someone recommended the boost because it comes in a high protein variety, and is often recommended for women pregnant with twins by their doctors.

So, what do you think of them? Do they taste bitter like ensure? Are they better, worse, about the same? I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to drink one..

I have only had Ensure, but a lot of my running friends prefer Boost. Ensure does make a high protein one. The vanilla is really good.

I drink chocolate soy milk blended with frozen bananas, that is the yummiest drink/dessert on earth.

I'm sure I probably could drink a regular protein mix but since boost is sold as food and also recommended during pregnancy, I tend to trust it more than "supplements" that aren't regulated by the FDA.

Well, I tried one, and...It tastes pretty much the same as ensure. It is cheaper than ensure though, so I'll probably stick to it. I sometimes mix ensure in my smoothies, and that ain't bad. I think I just need to drink them fast, then down a big glass of water!!!

What about chocolate soy milk or just chocolate milk? it is all fortified and you take vitamins.

Have you tried the vanilla ensure? I also have some ensure coupons somewhere if you want them.

I drink chocolate milk too--its got a fair amount of calories and protein--it just goes bad so quickly (I buy the half-gallon, since I can only find it in half and whole gallons at publix), even if I drink a glass a day I always end up throwing some away! I'm hesitant about soymilk because soy is estrogenic and I'm not sure how that effects my hormone balance (question for the OB I guess).

I have some vanilla ensure in the cupboard. I might use that in my next smoothie concoction.

i find that with the ensure, the colder it is the better, you can try blending it with ice cubes and see how it is.

good call with the soy milk. although, it might be ok after most of the brain/major organ systems have developed.

If you get the "Hoody" brand "low carb" milk (really more protein enhanced than anything) it lasts much longer in the refrigerator. It has about double the protein , and slightly lower carbohydrate than normal milk.
