I'm not in the know so I've come to a forum with people in the know

I'm seriously considering adding mountain climbers, burpees, and 'lunge jumps' to my training.. which right now involves running, push ups, and abs

The question: Long run sunday, 2 recovery runs monday, speed tuesday, mid-long run wednesday, speed thursday, 2 recovery runs friday, normal run saturday...

What day would be best to do these workouts? I'm assuming after the Sunday run, or after the speed days. I'd like to do everything 3 days a week (and I know I'll be whooped) but don't want to compromise existing training.

Thanks for the advice in advance everyone = D

goodness.

I'd say you'll have a shot at being sore the day after for a couple weeks (because it sounds like you go all out) so maybe Tues after your speed session or Thursday before your speed session. Each will give you different results.

Not knowing you at all.. I'd like to say a rest day is very important for many reasons............

agreed..

the recovery runs are just that - recovery.. I don't care about the pace of those at all as long as I get them in and give my legs a nice shake out.. Saturday is usually a normal effort too

but I'll definately try the mixing things up idea of doing it after workout on tuesday and before thursday - thanks for that tip

lol.. mileage with smileage

If your legs are pretty tired after the sunday long run, the burpees especially will be hell. If I was doing this I would probably do the body weight exercises after the recovery runs on Monday, as well as on Wednesday and Saturday.
