Yes - they have been talking up this storm for 2 days here. Lines at the gas pumps all over. it just started snowing here a half hour ago. I woud just as soon not lose power- we are watching a neighbor's pets down the road. If power goes out thier fish are doomed I'm afraid.

We are all set - DH went to work to retrieve our generator, I cleaned up the yard - got out the shovels and brought in some wood.

They are predicting 12-18' here over the next day or so.

Have you gotten snow this weekend? How much?

We're supposed to get 12-16 (Weather Channel) or 10-19 (National Weather Service). My wife works in a town on the ocean - it's supposed to get 14-23. She thinks she'll be working tomorrow.

Getting anywhere from 4-14 inches. Who knows. I hate snow. We got the generator out and gassed up an fire wood inside. Sigh

We did take Zoe out for a sled ride before dinner though!

At 9 PM we've already had about 7 inches. We're forecasted to get anywhere from another 5 to 11 inches. I've been shoveling on and off every hour or so. Trying to keep ahead of it. I might try to get to work tomorrow.

The more interesting part is, though, that our heater is on the fritz. Nice time to fail. During a blizzard with 40 mph wind gusts.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get someone out to fix it. Meanwhile, all the kids will sleep in one bedroom tonight, and I'll put our space heater in there. Me and Mrs. Tee will survive. The heater is working about 50% of the time now, so I'm trying to heat the house up as much as I can before we go to bed, getting it as warm as possible. It's up to 71 degrees now, which is hot, but I'm guessing sometime in the middle of the night, it won't go on anymore. I'm sure that our bedroom is baking by now, it's always the warmest room in the house.

I had gotten the heat up to around 70 before I went to bed, then turned it down. When I woke at 6 AM, it was at about 64, which is fine. The heat kicked on and worked, but a lot of time it would shut off.

We haven't called "the guy" yet, but it will be an issue, since they haven't plowed our street yet. I don't expect it until the afternoon, or even after dark. They take forever. So, "the guy" might have a difficult time getting to my house.

Wow.. we have good plowing here -that is a long time to wait to be cleared out.. but I suppose the large amounts makes it a challenge. It is bright sunny and cold her today. The only loss here was an entire feeder of bird seed got blown out all over the dooryard! The little birds will eat most on it anyway!

We had 3 of shoveling yesterday and it went a lot faster than I expected.
