Morning!
One of my tires has a slow leak so I took it to a tire place. Had to leave it so I ran the 1 mile home plus 2 more. First day since getting the cold that I felt like running. Must be getting over it.

Enjoy the day everyone, happy shopping, running and leftover eating.

Yay Hally!

I did a short 5 mile recovery run this morning at 9:56 min/mile pace, average HR 130. It was a chilly 52F and my hands got quite cold. It took them 20 minutes to warm up to where I could use them effectively. Shoulda wore some light gloves.

I'm at work today, though it'll likely be a short day. DW is venturing out to fight the Black Friday Wars. But she won't last long as she hates the madness.

Turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes with gravy on tap for Lunch. What else would it be?

Hi Hally,
Way to commute to the tire store. My calves are really sore after yesterday's race/tempo/long run. So today's workout will be raking leaves. Good enough.
Nice racing to the saint!!

Millbot - not surprised by your pr. you've been running well lately. In our local race your time would have placed you 5th in the 40-44 age group.
Congrats to ya.

Morning all. Overslept this morning so that eliminated having to decide between going to yoga class or running... will be leaving shortly for a nice unhurried long run... length to be determined as I go. Nice to actually have a day like that once in a while.

Our contribution to Thanksgiving dinner at MrOM's aunt & uncle's house yesterday was grilled salmon. I marinate it ahead of time (sesame teriyake and red wine) and he grills it there. Always goes over better than the turkey. This year I prepared a ton extra, hoping to be "forced" to take the leftovers home. No such luck.

Said aunt & uncle are planning on selling their house over the next couple months, and getting an apartment in the city, so it's being rumored that I will be "inheriting" Thanksgiving from next year on. The guest list is usually somewhere between 30 and 40. If nothing else, I look forward to keeping the leftovers!

Enjoy the day, everyone, shopping, recouping or otherwise.

Mornin' all!
Left home early to a beautiful scene of an inch of fluffy snow covering the ground and sticking to every twig. Unfortunately, there was no snow at all when I got to work and headed out for my pre-sunrise run. I don't like to run at home in the dark... no sidewalks, virtually no shoulder on the roads, no streetlights.

~4 easy miles on the sidestreets near the office, as the HS dirt track is now a complete swamp. We have TMs at the gym at work, but I want to stay off them as long as I can stay safely outside. Besides, I just eat up the comments I get ....."Saw you heading out....looking strong!", "Running in the snow? Boy, you're brave!" ... and the ever popular "Wow, you look fit....are you losing weight???"

Happy shopping, all you Black Friday lovers!!

Greetings, all.
Well, Hally, if a bad tire doesn't motivate you to run, then you might be pretty stuck.
Breger, 52 degrees is chilly? Up here it's perfect...
Ksrunr, that's a great workout.

I was pretty reserved with my intake yesterday, so I was able to pop a pretty solid five-miler today. Wrapping up my strongest, and most consistent, month of the year.

Good runs, all

3.7 miles in the 'hood (cloudy, 39*F, 15 mph winds)

My 21 y/o D is home from college this week and came along for the run. Get this, I had to SLOW DOWN so she could keep up with her mama... (ain't that cute?). I let her run slightly ahead of me so she could set the pace-- everyone in the 'hood probably thought I was the slow one .

One day I hope to be able to do a recovery run like Ks, but for now I have to be a bit more cautious. I went to the Y this morning, jogged just one slow mile and then did a full core and stretch routine, with some imitation SS planks and all.

I too am looking forward to dinner at OM's next year. I love grilled salmon, and I will be happy to cook the turkey. Quiet day in the Ribcage today, no shopping, just relaxing with the family. Spareribs

Well done, Baba. Great way to finish the year.
I'd like to run like ksrkarnivore too. Or millsanslard. Speedsters.
I love salmon! Set a place for me too, OM! What's one more?
chinups next, Ribs! No whining!

I'll do lots of stretching and some core today.

What's with the Seattle forecast?? Yeesh, no eye- or scalp-piercing rainspears?

But meteorites? Cool. Bring it.

{{{{{tomwhite & Family}}}}}}
{{{{{choovie & family}}}}}}}} scary situation- the baby is lucky!
Mustang Sal - from yesterday---yes, my mother still calls me and give me "advice". As much as I despise it at the time, I am glad she is around to bother me!!!

Unlike ks's awesome recovery on hills, my recovery run was three stinky miles on the treadmill, followed by an hour of upper body work. I keep working hard with a trainer on this upper body, but don't see too much in the way of results...

Black Friday shopping: in my mind you have to be a little cukoo to go out there and brave that!! I just read that a Walmart worker was TRAMPLED to death by shoppers. WHAT??? Are people nuts?

Happy Friday everyone.

Millbot, sorry I missed your PR yesterday! 4 miles is an unusual distance, isn't it? We're getting ready to have another big Thanksgiving dinner, this time in Arkansas. Later I'll run after the food's digested. Could be late.

Hi JanieBGood. Nice running with the youngster. Proves you aren't getting older, you are getting better

Congrats to all our Turkey Trotters yesterday. Looks like everyone had a good time and some PRs to boot!

Brother and family are banged up but fine today. I slept way late and haven't done a single thing except read the Vampire book, Twilight. I have been trying to read this for a while and finally had to buy my own copy as the library copy was always checked out. I'm totally engrossed but finally had to come up for air and eat breakfast and check email. My only email was from the United Blood Services. Blood lust is in the air.

I love lazy days.... will run tomorrow.

15 miles in sabino canyon... up/down/up/down dang garmin battery was discharged, didn't have a stopwatch, but listened to two hours of music on my mp3 player, so about 8min/mi pace.

driving to sabino at a stop light a guy behind me bumped me pretty hard. as i got out to see if there was any damage he yelled out of his window that his transmission was giving him trouble (and i noted that he didn't apologize). no damage, so got back in. then tail-gater boy rode my a$$ for 5 miles, and started yelling at me at a stop light... i blew him a kiss and waved good-bye.

looks like thanksgiving is over, eh?

Oh my, I don't know how you can stand it...
My outdoor run got bumped yesterday because it never got above zero. Ran 6 progression miles on the TM before getting ready for dinner at mom's. So today... it's a balmy 11F out there now (yes, above zero!) so I'm going to get an outdoor run in later today.

Mustang Sally... how'd you do that? Hope you're feeling better and have fun in Seattle. It's a wonderful race, I had a blast last year. A good friend of ours is running it, I think he's looking for a BQ time...

C-Mom, yes, they're all insane. I worked too many years in retail to even think about doing that. Also, it's not the crowds in the stores that gets me but the hazards in the parking lots! My car is much happier in it's garage.

Sure glad to hear Choovie's brother and family are ok. How scary is that? And I hope they can embrace the "thank God we're ok" part rather than beating themselves up with the "what could've been" thoughts.

Good reaction, mc. Boorish drivers can really suck the joy out of life. Glad to hear he was just annoying and no damage done.

Hi Labduck! Very glad to see you posting!
