For cyclists - how do you keep sweat from running into your eyes during rides. While I am moving it's fine, but when I stop, it's like a freaking river.

I wear a buff under my helmet, but it is not helping a whole lot. Is there something that anyone can suggest?

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried riding without the Buff? I only say this because I sweat a ton myself and have never had that issue when I stop. Maybe it's my helmet design or something helping with that.

The problem I always have is the runny nose bit - pretty annoying, and I've found no real good solution so far.

OMG, me too! I always get a runny nose. What is up with that?

I will try it without the buff - I like it because it keeps my hair out of my eyes and off my face, but I can find something else to help with that, I'm sure.

Thank you, Joe!!!

they have something called "head sweats" that is like a headband...but there is a rubber thing underneath where the forehead is...it makes the sweat drip away from your eyes.

I've been using a bandana on my head-that's helped me. Nothing worse than burning eyes and sweat on the INSIDE of your sunglasses!

Don't ride behind him!

NOthing I hate worse than sweat/sunscreen in my eyes. It stings.

I wear a buff, too, sometimes. I saw those cap things at the bike store last night and wondered how they work. I would look silly in one.

Dunno what a buff is but I wear a bandana tied like a doorag. Cheaper then those bike caps, and you can buy a dozen and have a clean one for every ride. Also, don't put sunscreen over your eyebrows and it won't run into your eyes. Get a visor for the helmet instead.

now with the snot issue..................

OMG, some days I run out of places to wipe. Years of running and I never blew a snot rocket. One day, I had so much snot up and down my sleeve, I had no choice but to blow my boogers on the ground. I was so proud, though

There's a headband thing called Halo II. You can get them at REI (and probably lots of other places). It has a rubber or latex band on the inside that makes the sweat run off to the sides. They work really well for me in hot weather -- if it's not so hot, the wind usually keeps things dry enough.

I found a link:

http://www.rei.com/product/710872

I wear a coolmax headsweat bandana. The band is like terry cloth so it keeps the sweat from running into your eyes and the coolmax doesn't get as soggy as cotton. You can find them on sale fairly often at Performance or Nashbar.

Isn't that why we wear biking gloves?
