Suggestions? Tips? Models? Price Ranges? Things to keep in mind?

I swore I asked about this a while ago, but I can't find the thread...

FWIW, I have a cannondale hybrid, and would like to get some work on it over the winter.

I think the Cyclops Fluid Trainers get the best press. I got mine for about $220, I think. Maybe slightly more.

Warning - they're all noisy.

I have a sweet CycleOps fluid trainer. . .300-ish. Get the front tire mount, too. That's another $50-ish.

Nope. Well, you might want to get some good stuff to watch on tv while you ride. It can be mindnumbing otherwise.

babysitter per hour = $10
2 hour ride = $20
20 rides = $400

I'll opt for the trainer

Eh. Give 'em a bottle of whiskey and some matches, maybe even a pair of sharp scissors and they'll be fine for a couple of hours in their own. Trust.Me.

I have a pair of shimano clipless laying around somewhere. I know I only paid about $50 for them at Dicks.

And I found the trainer for about $220 - free shipping. And a small stack of textbooks works just as well as the front wheel mount.

Definitely look on craiglist!! Great idea.

I have a cyclops too. What's the front wheel mount? I just put my front tire on a block or wood or a phone book to make it level. We're high tech at the wyrillco household.

The key, HH, is rigging up your laptop so you can play online poker while you ride. It's pretty mind numbing.

It's called the climbing block. Disregard my made-up name for that piece!
