1. Why do you run?
I started because I was envious of DH running regularly and competing in races. I'd never been able to jog around the block. He's been very supportive and now it is something we do together (although not at the same pace) - and I continue because of the challenge as well as the health and sanity it gives me.

2. What is your greatest accomplishment?
I don't think I've really had a great accomplishment yet. I hope to - and I would consider it great if it is something that benefits others.

3. What is your motto/theme song?
Be the bunny! I want to be the person that keeps going, and going, and going...

4. How do you deal with bad runs?
Realize that they happen and that the next great run is around the corner. Of course, if it is bad because I have an injury, then honestly I am a big baby and get very frustrated.

5. Do you reward yourself for good runs? How?
Yes - Often! Usually it is brunch at a Mexican restaurant or pizza and beer for dinner.

6. Who do you admire most?
I'd have to say my big sister. We have very different views and opinions, but I admire that she stands by her convictions. She let's people know where she stands, but doesn't push too hard to convert and she doesn't belittle those who don't share her faith. She has a good heart, and she isn't afraid to go out into the world and try new things.

7. What is the greatest advice you have ever received?
Most of the advice I've really taken to heart I've read or heard somewhere else. Things I try to keep in mind are that 'it isn't the destination, it's the journey' and that the true measure of character isn't how many times you fall, but how many times you rise again after a fall.

Of course, I am pretty obstinate, so I may have been given good advice directly from others that went in one ear and out the other.

8. What do wish you had learned younger?
Trying and failing is better than not trying at all.

9. What do you wish you could do but can't?
Play the drums, turn a cartwheel, drive a stick shift, swim. (But I should say - 'can't do yet')

10. How would your friends describe your personality?
I really wasn't sure, so I asked a couple friends and this is what I was told: sensitive, sweet, acerbic, complicated, giving, warm

11. What do you wear running? favorite outfit?
Brooks Adrenaline shoes, thin running socks, shorts, tech tank or tech shirt, hat (when outside), four bottle fuel belt (when outside), iPod (except in races). I don't really have a favorite outfit.

12. What has been your favorite race?
So far, the Monterey/Big Sur Half Marathon. One of my favorite places on earth and so beautiful.

13. Do you have a goal race right now?
The La Jolla Half is coming up this Spring, and I know it is a tough course. So my goal is to run the whole thing, no matter how slowly. Another goal is to run the San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon - I'd love to do it in 2009 depending on how this year goes.

14. What makes you happy?
