I'm kinda with BigG on the mojo thing. Running is a habit for me now. My schedule is pretty consistent: I run after work almost every day of the work week. Mondays and Wednesdays I'm "allowed" to come home a little later, so I can get in a longer run. I usually pick up my daughter from daycare on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so those workouts are much shorter. And Saturday morning is always reserved for the long run. My whole family is aware of this routine, and it works for all of us.

And I'm also with BigG on the fact that not running for a while makes me feel like crap. So I don't want to not do it.

My wife has always struggled with the motivation thing. She has never liked to exercise. She occasionally gets into it for some brief moments, but it never lasts for very long. She gets upset about putting on weight, but she doesn't want to do anything about it. We've known each other for 14 years, and over that time I've suggested a zillion things she and I could do to exercise together, but she just doesn't want to do it. I keep telling her that I worry about her long-term health. I mean, she's still in her 30s, so maybe her metabolism is still good enough to somewhat offset a lack of physical activity. But someday she'll be 50, then 60, etc. Sooner or later, a lack of activity will catch up to her. But she just doesn't care. I've brought this up so many times that she's gotten pissed at me for still bringing it up. But now, I guess I've given up. I can't do the exercise for her, and if she won't let me help her, then there's nothing more I can do. If she's happier by not exercising, then I've got to respect her wishes.

Umm, Moe, I don't know if any of that is helpful. I guess my point is that it's really up to you. Nobody else can force you to do anything. We're all here as a support system, of course. But the first step is up to you. And we're here for you as soon as you want to get moving.
